iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
Quote: You should prepare yourself for some kind of a betatest of the 901's firmware, because the company is not large. We had a betatest of dx100 FW from 1.0.3 till 1.1.7. And then iBasso worked mainly on the sound. In 901 the main problem is two DACs on board in a non desktop body. The...- Veenrok

Quote: of course I meant to say "imo". But I am sure you can hear the difference, if you try. I also have at home a HM-801 with symmcard amp (the best amp for 801 out there). And IMO the 801 DAP if powered with a good amp with close to zero impendance provides an opportunity for comparison...- Veenrok

Quote: Turn off dx100, hit the reset button. Turn on with card inserted. Try. If it doesn't help, try formating the card via android on the dx100. If doesn't help, try recovery.- Veenrok

AnakChan, we don't know, if the OPamps are sandpapered off in the late batches of dx100. The only way to find out - is for someone to look inside. But R10 is a product for Japanese market, and there is as I understand a different marketing approach. At the early stage of product promotion...- Veenrok

AnakChan, NP, the comparison will stay in the R10 thread. But for my fellow player.ru users the contens of R10 are also a proof of the usage of OPA 627 in dx100. I wouldn't underastimate it. Personally the question for me is the OPA amp used after the DAC in dx100, is it OPA627 or OPA827?- Veenrok

Here is some more information on the possible difference between dx100 and R10. As we can see in the photo, R10 in the circuit after the DAC has OPA 827K. Dx100 as I know has OPA 627 after DAC. But I've never seen a photo with dx100 audiotract where I could possibly see what is there...- Veenrok

Quote: Whell, we know as a fact, that dx100 drives headphones. Can you name any DAP that drives headphones and has 3,3V battery? I know non. I've read that it is because at high gain (which is needed for good headphones) audiotract has requirements in Voltage to be able to provide...- Veenrok

With IEM it would be better because of the battery life, but not with Headphones. I have dx100, and with 8,4V battery most of them (even with relatively small impendance for headphones) require high gain to drive them. For example my FA003 do. I'm not talking about volume, I mean sound quality...- Veenrok

Quote: You do understand that mAh and Volts - are not the same thing, right? Plus DX100 has two 2000 mAh batteries as well as HDP R 10 has two batteries. They ever look the same. The difference is in voltage and the connection scheme. R10 has parallel scheme when dx100 has a sequential...- Veenrok

1.4.2 is better than 1.2.7. It's sort of evolution of 1.3.7 with a little warmth in sound, more weight and clearity. Try it. If You liked 1.3.7, You'd like 1.4.2. And the changes are not significant. Personally I didn't recognise them from the begining- Veenrok
