NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Thanks for that. I was thinking of those little Y type splitters would function but was wondering if there'd be problems introduced into the mix.- Skawt01

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Was about to pull the trigger on the Vali and Modi combo, but there's no outputs to pipe the DAC to my stereo amplifier to broaden it's appeal. Wondering if there's a Y type cable setup to siphon the signal from the Modi to the Vali and the big stereo amplifier? Or is this simply not an option...- Skawt01

New supraaural headphones from Thinksound: On1.
So I have the On1 now. Been pumping FLACs through Nuforce and Audioengine D1 DACs. Initial problems w/ foam pads not being mounted adequately from the factory. Thinksound helped me out quickly w/ advice to simply screw them til they clicked, which worked. Thinksound is exemplary in this area as...- Skawt01

Thinksound on1 Supraaural Headphone: My Impressions
Well in my experience all on-ear/over-ear cans make the ear sweat. Regarding the foam pads, I'm reminded of my memory foam bed, which is comfy but runs totally hot. My first thought w/ the on1 memory foam was that ear heat would suck. I'd rather be rocking my KEF tower speaks at volume, but...- Skawt01

Thinksound on1 Supraaural Headphone: My Impressions
Thank you for posting this thorough, informative review. My current go to on-ear cans are the ATH-ESW9, and it would be awesome to read a comparison b/w the two. I love the sound signature of the ESW9, but they physically hurt my ears at about an hour's worth of listening, which is the sole...- Skawt01

New supraaural headphones from Thinksound: On1.
So you're thinking they have unnatural or enhanced bass? I've been eyeballing these but waiting for a review, hoping for a neutral sound. I enjoy my ts-02 b/c they're more neutral than my bass heavy ts-01, but they both kick ass on the Sennheiser's I had. So I look forward to your feedback...- Skawt01

Htc One
Just got an HTC One. Running FLAC files thru Neutron and listening w/ my Thinksound IEMs plugged straight to the phone jack. Also sounds good piped thru my car stereo. Sounds waaaay better than I anticipated. I'm still on trial version of Neutron and will compare to Poweramp soon. Though...- Skawt01

So, what is the best portable FLAC player for sound quality and build?
Heya. Can you tell us what you ended up getting? I'm in a bit of a quandary w/ this exact issue. I have an old Zune mp3 player that just sucks balls in so many ways, for reasons you all would guess. Anyone else have experience here? So, what portable FLAC players are recommended? ...- Skawt01

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
Kenammo, Glad you like your D1. And thank you for posting your JRiver settings. I tweaked them on my own but I didn't know what I was doing and I'm still getting the popping/clicking. However, today I received a used HRT II+, so I'll have a chance to compare the D1 (that I plan to send...- Skawt01

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
Soundlikes, Did you choose Wasapi or Wasapi Event? I am using Wasapi (non event), and changed the output settings in Windows for the D1 to 24/96. Kenammo, can you please tell me how to change the buffer settings? Not sure what to do w/ that info exactly. Thanks guys. I really...- Skawt01

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
So I am now using JRiver 17, and in addition to what I still find to be diminished sound on the higher end from the D1, I'm now experiencing popping/clicking sounds during playback (sounds like dirty vinyl). I'm gonna throw in the towel and return it. Moving on to an HRT II+ that I bought used...- Skawt01

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
Thanks guys. Not sure I want to mess w/ the drivers to bypass Windows Mixer, or really if I need to. I thought the outboard D1 DAC was supposed to inherently bypass any sound drivers upon plug-in, and I am using Foobar2000 which I understand is also able to bypass Windows Mixer but I haven't...- Skawt01

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
So I'm new here, and new to DACs. I bought the Audioengine D1 and after tinkering w/ settings (to 24/96), I find it sounds no better than the headphone out in my HP DV7 laptop when hooked up to my home system (NAD T763 running KEF reference series speakers). My old Sony CD changer sounds much...- Skawt01
