ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Argh. Again. Right treble and left bass have cut out. I'm close to giving up, I use them daily but that's the 3rd time in about a year and a half I'll have had to return the T1 Lives. I'm not having much luck with them at all, they're crazily fragile.

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Hi Gerry. I bought the de-humidifier for hearing aids and used it nightly but still experienced the driver failure with acs saying there was moisture damage. I'm a generally sweaty guy so maybe this is just my bad luck but then again how come the Ety ER4Ps lasted so much longer? It could be a...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

aaah just had them returned and fixed. Another driver failure sadly, so I'm on #3 now on the right hand side. I'm tempted to think it's something to do with the way I remove them from my ear, but really I am crazily careful with these things. It's apples vs oranges but i had the Etymotic ER4P/S...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Jeremy1234 - I've just had this happen for a 2nd time, since I got the T1 Lives 15 months ago. Last time it was fixed and they called it 'sweat damage', and installed the green filters for me (I actually think they replaced the entire headphones, but can't be sure). When I need to speak to...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Hmm. Last year (January) when I was putting in the order, I was told there were differences at that point. Specifically the crossover and the dampener. I ended up ordering the Live! but deleting the microphone. (My reasoning was, If I'm spending so much on headphones, why not get the better of...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Jeremy - they will tell you that of course the Live! is a bit better than the Classic, and it's worth getting. It's hard to tell though.... I'd say the best thing is to trust average_joe.   Remember that the Live!s were produced in response to a need for musical performers to hear the sound...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

I just received mine back last night, the cable had shredded a bit and the left channel was cutting out. I have to say I did it via Monika Shumacher (www.protection4hearing.co.uk) who I'd bought the headphones through, and the service was superb again. I texted her to ask her for a contact name...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Hmmm. You are making me want to buy these SA-43s! I hope I have the willpower to resist. And really, I am still happy with the T1 Live!s - even from my phone, music can be utterly stunning under the right circumstances. I recently had the chance to borrow a DAC from a client and it rammed home...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Just a quick update. I believe the choice on de-emphasizing the treble is leading to the 'busy' sound of the music. My theory is that it stops the sounds from being delineated neatly at the top end and so some of the different sounds slide into each other a bit.   Could be wrong. Still...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Really impressed with your findings Average_Joe, and I enjoyed reading your custom review thread. I just bought the T1 Live! in february after my Etymotic ER4Ps broke (still sad about that) and after a bit of acclimitisation I posted some thoughts in another thread...

ACS T1 Custom Review and impressions thread!

Hi Kunlun, Average_Joe, Sinocelt, kryten123. I have been away in a ski chalet with only local 3G and very militant web filters since last week so haven't been able to reply. It's as you say, I've slowly got used to them and the sound and have figured out where in the soundstage the treble is. It...

ACS T1 Custom Review and impressions thread!

long time lurker here, never bothered signing up till now. Just got my ACS T1 Live!s earlier this evening - fantastic service from Monika at Protection4Hearing, same as Phil. Would certainly go through her again.   I really don't believe in burn-in for headphones but the highs.... really...
