Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Oh cool, I remember seeing his video about him breaking his pair while modding them because he knocked a magnet or something like that... Yeah I would probably be down to mod them myself, but I wonder if Monoprice is going to have a fuzzor mod in a future iteration of the headphone. I think...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Same here. I decided that after breaking both of the black ear hooks and with the ear soreness, there just wasn't enough of a reason to keep them. I was honestly hoping that the soreness would go away as I got used to it, but after a week of wearing them everyday the soreness is always still...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Yeah they are not the most portable earphones stock, more transportable if anything. I think one of the YouTube reviewers was saying that it seemed like they recycled the cable from rev 1 m1060s. I was kind of looking at the me-elec HiFi cable. A lot of people were saying that it is pretty...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Yup, shortly after that post I broke the other black clip lol... Its just a very slim, flimsy hard plastic. They both broke at the part that goes around the actual monitor, so I think its that the plastic is under a lot of force/pressure when connected. If Monoprice went with a stiff rubber for...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Yeah, I think they are really prevalent on this cable because of the cloth material on them. That said I don't really notice it when music is actually playing, but it might just be my mind filtering out the noise. I would think that those wire-braided cables would help, but I am not sure. EDIT...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
I never heard the iSines, sorry if I gave that impression. Honestly I am very content with the m300 at this point. The detail retrieval is pretty solid, its weirdly airy (kind of contributes to a hollowness I feel), and the bass is pretty extends a lot farther without sounding muddy (Comparing...- watsaname

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Well I got mine. So far I think they sounds pretty good. The width that it has is definitely a surprise (not really since its supposed to be ripping the iSines off anyways rights?). I am comparing that to the se215s though so I don't think that is very surprising. Space Oddity was definitely a...- watsaname

The Schiitstorm: Next-Gen Magni 2 and Modi 2 Family!
I am assuming that you are using the USB input? If you are that can be explained by the fact that your usb ports don't deliver clean power. If coaxial or optical maybe check for dirt or dust in your ports?- watsaname

The Schiitstorm: Next-Gen Magni 2 and Modi 2 Family!
I ordered my Modi 2 Uber the on 12/26. I just got my shipping confirmation around 6pm. I am so excited. I was actually debating on getting the Modi optical some time mid-November, but ended up deciding on waiting. I am glad I did.- watsaname

Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread
There should be a sticker on the actual plastic container the iems came in that reads "pro 1" on it. The bass doesn't sound murky, but rather tight and punchy albeit they aren't the main focus of the iem.- watsaname

Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread
@altrunox I am able to power them from my S5 with little problem. The problem lying in the fact that touchwiz has the stupid volume limit. I don't know how my phone stacks up to the Lumia 520 in terms of power, but I guess that can help you with some reference.- watsaname

Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread
I got my B3s earlier today from Penonaudio, took about 6 days including the day that I actually placed my order. I have to say that they sound great so far. Powering them out of my DX50 or S5, they don't have any problems just having such a great sound.- watsaname

***Earbud Guide - 22 Earbuds compared***
A set of earbuds that are coming with the new Amazon phone that was announced yesterday. Might be promising, might not be. Though it might be worth mentioning as a lot of phone makers tend to throw iems with their phones nowadays instead of earbuds. Looks inspired of the earpod from Apple a...- watsaname

Wasn't the MKII and BE discontinued in favor of the classic? Those ones still sold in China might just be last of store's stock unless they continually get new shipments.- watsaname

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Is he using a virtual surround dsp? If he isn't, that is probably why there is that "deadzone"... I noticed that in some games when you have 5.1 sound on and no virtual surround on the sounds are oriented very left, right, front, and rear. There isn't necessarily a front-right or front-left...- watsaname

Basic way to stream Spotify to my stereo?
I might be missing something but couldn't you just use the headphone/line out of your computer and be done with it? Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Don't know what soundcard you have whether it is the Z, ZxR, or omni, but on the Z there is an option in Windows Recording devices that allows you to actually push audio that is processed by the sound card to a usb dac. It is called "What U Hear" and all you have to do is "check" the "Listen to...- watsaname

Dang, if the software works through optical on that motherboard, that would be really cool for those who want itx builds. I recently ordered a D03k to check out how optical works out with my SB Z sound card before I get my feet wet with more expensive optical dacs, got it for 16 bucks too.- watsaname
