Sorry for the long update,   Apparently, using vinegar produced the most desirable effect. After putting it inside a sealed container, with a cup of vinegar, for 24 hours, I took it out. It stinks of vinegar, so I need to air them out, for around 3-4 days until the smell completely dissipates...

After reading a while, might try the freezer method first. If it fails, will go for the vinegar method.....under strict observation of course -.- Putting my earpads in the freezer now!!
