Using Fiio E7/E9 Combo as only DAC

So this weekend, I'm planning on going out and purchasing some stereo speakers and integrated amps for music listening/video gaming/movie watching.   I do like to do lot of my listening with headphones and earbuds, but with the hot weather and the fact that I like to be in my bed while...

Click+Popping sound from E17 DAC! Help!!

Quote:   Oh! well as long as I'm not losing out by using the Toslink instead of USB I'm happy. I had the E09K USB plugged in but the sound output on my PC was set to toslink so it didn't have any problem. Thanks for the help!   It's just that now I have a long toslink hanging on...

Click+Popping sound from E17 DAC! Help!!

Quote: Listening to some music files right now. And there doesn't seem to be any clicking or popping noise.   I guess this would be one solution to getting rid of the noise. But would this be any less beneficial than using the USB?   Also, it's awesome that I got this issue worked...

Click+Popping sound from E17 DAC! Help!!

Quote: Right now I have just the E17 connected to PC using Toslink. I'll try to have it docked on E09K and then update you on how that goes.   What does the low bypass mode do anyways??

Click+Popping sound from E17 DAC! Help!!

bump/update.   I replaced the e7/e9 with e17/e90k. I didn't want the low humming of e7 and thought might as well just spend few more bucks upgrading them.   I got them today and the random static/clicking noise is still present.   I checked both unit individually (aux USB etc)...

Hi,   I'm a beginner in this field so I thought I'd start with some basic headphone + amp.   I got my HD 598 last year and have been loving it ever since.   I finally got some money to buy amp and DAC and since many recommended fiio to be a entry level amp and dac, I decided to get...

    Newly joined. Hello!

If I'm getting a DAC/amp I won't need a new sound card would I? I currently have just on board sound card but I heard having the DAC/amp bypasses the card. Would you still recommend getting one anyways?   And also I was trying to compare AIFF files and MP3 files today using the exact...

    Newly joined. Hello!

Thanks for the reply. well my PS3 can have 3 different audio output. Optical, just plain red and white or HDMI. PS3 also does have a USB port but it can't be used for the game audio. Just the voice chat. Is there any other DAC/amp model that you would recommend that would allow me to have both...

    Newly joined. Hello!

I've been reading up on DAC and amps and I'm planning on getting the Fiio E7 E9 combo, but if E7 functions as both an amp and a DAC, what is the benefit of having the E9 along with it?   And also, will I be able to have both my PC and PS3 connected at the same time??

    Newly joined. Hello!

I did receive my HD 598 yesterday and I really like it. Thanks for the reply. How much do starting level DAC and amplifier cost? I've seen ones that sell devices that have amp/DAC together but are they good or is it better to buy them separately.

    Newly joined. Hello!

Hi I can't call myself an audiophile, but I do enjoy listening to variety of music. I have lot of interest in electronics and gadgets so whenever I make a purchase, I tend to go for ones that are really worth your bucks instead of buying an expensive brand that costs alot just because of its...
