The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

At least try the stock pads first. If you hate them, get the velours.

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

I tore the foam off the drivers, and A/B'd them with and without the foam covers by placing them back in when needed. The verdict: Take the foam out. The highs get a little brighter and a little less grainy. It's a pretty small change, but it helps.   I don't have much experience with nice...

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

I am in no way qualified to discuss audio quality, but these things sound pretty great to me - far better than the skullcandy hesh headphones I used to use. Thanks to Dsnuts for the great find!

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

I'm burning these in as I type. Does anyone know how they fare against the Creative Aurvana Live!? Their sounds have been described as being fairly similar, and now that the CAL! is back in stock on amazon, I'm pretty curious.

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

Covering that little vent on the front really does change the sound. It increases the bass a fair bit.

Quote: I'm pretty sure they are fitting right; I experimented with a few different tips. I don't have experience with any nice IEMs, but these can be absolutely painful compared to my other cheapos. Maybe mine are just weird or something, because I really wouldn't describe them as...

Does anyone else notice a ton of sibilance? Mine are absolutely terrible with some singers.

    Guitar-fi anyone?

I built this one a few years ago: Planning on making another one as soon as i have the money and the tools. I have a couple partsocasters too. They all go through either a Peavey Classic 50 4x10 or a Tech21 TM60. I play Seagull acoustics - love the wider necks.

Ok, after some more burn in time and a change to nearly uncomfortably large old skullcandy tips, my opinion on these has completely changed. The treble can still be a bit harsh on some vocal "sh" sounds, and the bass doesn't go lower than 30hz, but other than those two gripes, these things sound...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I feel the same way about the bass.

I'm honestly not hearing anything special in these. The bass is muted and only hits a depth of 40hz or so, and the treble, though clear, can be a bit too bright on cymbal crashes and the like. I've only let them burn for a couple hours though, so I'll re-evaluate tomorrow.

Just received mine. Putting them on immediately, I thought the treble clarity was quite good, the mids were a bit thin, and the bass was very underwhelming. I've let them burn in for about an hour now, and I'm pretty sure the bass has improved a bit. We'll see how they sound after a day or two...

Best general use headphones for $50 - $75

The sennheisers are certainly mass produced though, as are the igrados; i'm not sure why you indicate that to be a problem with igrados. Thanks for the opinion!

Easy. Sound quality >>> comfort > isolation > portability.

Hey all, I am selling my new replacement pair of skullcandy Hesh headphones (received after the first pair broke), and I would like to buy a set with better sound quality, especially in the mids and treble where the SCs were most lousy, and preferably not covered in skulls and kickin' urban...
