After reading this thread I've been wondering if it would be possible to reshell my phonak pfe 112s. Since it has a replaceable filter system I don't know if that could be done.

and in what way does it effect the sound signature? On one website its a good thing, another one claims it creates noise in the background. That would be great if i could get some insight.  

Looks like a dynamic driver to me. So that makes 2 dynamic drivers per iem. Interesting in a good way

Hopefully you can find a somewhat reasonably priced audiologist. Let us know how it goes and if possible how much it costs if you dont mind me asking.

I think its helpful to point out that the phonaks have interchangeable filters that let you adjust the bass. But yah once you start upping your budget its pretty hard to pass up the tf10s
