Editing an MP3
Hi, If I were to chop off the ending of a song (say in MP3 format) would it affect the quality of the track? Should I be saving it in a lossless container like FLAC? What programs would be good for this? What about if I were to chop off the ending of a track (in lossy format) then add a... -

Quote: So he can remake the tips of my acrylic custom? How much does the service cost? I'm really worried though.. two tries and UM couldn't position everything right. Silicone could be a nice touch though.- Kanashimu

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)
Oh? How would I get a silicone tip? Most CIEM manufacturers do not work with silicone.. And there are severe fit issues.. at first there was no bass. Adding some nail polish to the tip fixes that issue, but my Miracles sound like headphones that are worth half the price.. sometimes a third...- Kanashimu

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)
Hey Joe, sort of an aside here: How do you think an SM3v2 does relative to your customs in terms of isolation ? (We're talking busy streets and loud subways). What about microphonics? Any bone conduction? Customs are seriously being so painful for me right now.. I'm thinking of selling and...- Kanashimu

Cheap HE-500 replacement cable
Does anyone have a good suggestion for something cheap? I'm thinking under $100 shipped to Canada. My HE-500 cable broke and if they want me to ship the headphones back, it will end up costing me more than just buying a cable. I don't really think cables change sound quality anyway. Just...- Kanashimu

Adjusting my CIEMS - alternatives to nail polish?
I'm trying to add a thin layer of coating on my CIEM (Unique Melody Miracle) to improve seal/fit, as I'm getting no bass without pressing on it. Does anyone know of alternatives to nail polish, or is that the best long term solution? It needs to be cheap, easy to find, last long, be...- Kanashimu

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)
Joe, do you think that silicones are less sensitive to fit issues than acrylics? My Miracles refit still didn't work out - the bass drivers are positioned too far away. I need to press on it to hear any bass at all. However, it seemed like your 5-way Ref had fit issues as well?- Kanashimu

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM
Another oddity - they seem to have also replaced my stock cable. The Y split on the new one seems to be EXTREMELY short; UM already had shorter than average Y splits. It is only barely enough to be comfortable, with a few centimeters of breathing room available.- Kanashimu

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM
Amazing - I actually got my Miracles back. A good samaritan presumably shipped it to UM at their own expense. It was weird when I got my package back - I shipped it in the original faux red leather case, which UM didn't return. Not that I really care. At first, the refit seemed...- Kanashimu

ATH-M50s make me angry
Quote: While my HE-500s have a much larger soundstage, my UM Miracles sound moderately more coherent and accurate in positioning. You definitely are comparing products that are way out of the HE-500's league.- Kanashimu

Hisoundaudio Popo reviews thread - Post your reviews here!
Got mine today; reserved. Initial impressions: somewhat impressed actually; this hasn't happened ever for a sub $100 product. Currently using biflanges cause nothing else fits. Very comfortable, firm enough fit (doesn't feel loose or like it will fall out, but doens't feel extremely firm...- Kanashimu

HiFiMan Introduces New HE-500 Planar Magnetic Headphones
Interesting, I got a 2nd pair of HE-500s and the cable is terminated differently now. R1 of the silver cable had a termination that allowed for 3.5mm converted into 6.3, now its simply a 6.3. Only comparing from memory, but it seems to sound different too.. it does some things worse, while...- Kanashimu

a little help with some info for writing an article
1. They're lossless, meaning that they are the same quality as a CD. Most lossless compression tracks are generally a bit under 1400 kbs though, as it isn't necessary. 4. https://www.hdtracks.com/ does.- Kanashimu

People With Customs-Do You Also Use Universals, Or Do You Use Your Customs For Everything?
Really surprised by the answers in this thread.. Customs for working out? Really? Customs easier to remove and put back in than universals? I thought my Miracles were probably best customs in this regard (short insertion + I got an aftermarket cable that has no memory wire) and it was an...- Kanashimu

T1, am I going bonkers?
I've always thought that there was practically no appreciable gains in upgrading amps/DACs. Then again, I haven't owned many desktop amps. If the amp can go loud enough and doesn't suck - then you're most of the way there already.- Kanashimu

Sennheiser hd 555 help
Having owned the HD-555s before, if you listen in your own room with your door closed, no one outside should be able to heal your music unless you're blasting it at damaging levels. what premium headphones should my employing company stock?
A definite vote to Audio Technica if you can.. I own the ES10s, and while they don't scream price/performance on an audiophile level (they're average in this regard), they'll compare excellently to Beats, Bose, B&W P5 etc. and the mainstream headphones while looking very classy and refined. It...- Kanashimu
