Pow Chu Moy R.I.P
I haven't been here for years, but somehow stumbled upon the news of his death. Many moons ago, I was very active on this board many thanks to Chu Moy. Although I joined this community pretty late in the game, Chu Moy indirectly inspired me to become an electrical engineer after building my...- cire

Need a PayPal headphone store.
It takes three to four business days. You could always just activate the PayPal debit card (the virtual card has never worked for me, maybe you'll have better luck).- cire

anybody know wether ipod rockbox improves sound
After a crappy roadtrip, I've learned that the hiss through Rockbox is significantly lower than the stock Apple firmware. With my E500s, the hiss is really, really loud even with the lowest volume on Apple firmware, but very little with Rockbox.- cire

anybody know wether ipod rockbox improves sound
It sounds the same, unless you EQ, then the Rockbox is better because its EQ isn't preset. Rockbox has terrible, awful, atrocious battery life. You're probably going to switch back to the Apple firmware very soon.- cire

Toyota Corolla owners - anything I should know ?
If it were my call, I'd buy a Rabbit. But that's just me, I look at car ownership a bit differently than most people. The Corolla is a fine car that will last forever.- cire

GAH! I think I haz teh flu!!! Help needed.
(Moron's advice here) I had a pretty bad cold last month, probably borderline flu since it hit me so hard. Anyways, so it was my last day in Taipei and my friends wanted to go clubbing, so of course I went along, dying of fatigue and coughing my ass off. Thankfully, it was five free drinks...- cire

Which of These Three for Plane Rides?
Not sure how you folks are coming to the conclusion that UM1 are more comfortable that ER6i, since they both use similar comply style foamies, but the ER6i give you the option of triflange. Another option if you have an amp or a player with a robust output is the iM716, which is essentially a...- cire

USB mains charger
If the Nano has firewire charge as well as USB on the dock connector, use that instead since I believe it is regulated, accepts a voltage between 9 and 35 and has protection built in. Feed a DC wallwart into those two pins and you're set.- cire

How Do YOU like/cook Your Ramen!
I find that boiling the water, dumping the packet of pseudo-vegitables in, then dumping half the packet of curry powder in, stirring that until the water is nice and red, then throwing the brick of noodles in. Seperate the noodles, cap the pot, turn the fire off and cook for five minutes. Serve...- cire

First daily stick shift car...
I'm also still learning to drive a stick smoothly, although it's not in a 6speed, but a 1.6 Golf. I find it helpful to apply slight amounts of power just before releasing the clutch entirely, like when you're at the last tenth of clutch, give it juice. But most of all, you have to be calm. As...- cire

Driver's test
I got an 85% and I just took the learner's permit test a few hours ago. The California test is out of 40 questions, most you can get wrong is eight and I got seven wrong. Whoever said the test was trivial and full of BS common sense is so full of crap.- cire
