Replacement Tips for FiiO EX1 / Titan 1; light blue, greenish core?
Hi, I just purchased a FiiO EX1 to supplement my collection and really like it for the money. I have a small collection of tips (e.g. comfy, spinfit, jvc, auvio) and found I like one of the stock ones best though my jvc dots were pretty close. I was wondering if anyone could point...- Jonoh

Help, need IE80 replacement cable
hi, My IE80 cable was damaged. I called Sennheiser for a replacement but they do not have stock and not sure when they will. So...I either have to wait indefinitely for Sennheiser to make replacement cables available or purchase off of ebay. I like the OEM cable as it is quite...- Jonoh

Shure SE owners, do you get microphonics from the plug bouncing about?
Hi, I hope some of you with Shure SEs can provide your experience using these earphones while exercising and/or just moving around. I was a happy owner of an E4 until it broke (my fault and out of warranty) which I used mainly for the gym. After having gotten used to the E4, I am really...- Jonoh

Anyone using an se420 or se530 while exercising? Any issues?
hi, My Shure E4s developed a problem so I can either send them in for repair (no longer under warranty) or upgrade to an SE420 or SE530. Much of the use, but not all, will be while exercising at the gym (weights and also a lot of treadmill). The E4s have been great for this use. My...- Jonoh

Would Shure se530 or se420s be an upgrade over E4?
Hi, It has been awhile since I posted here and there have been a lot of new products introduced over the last couple years which leads me to my question. Would the Shure se530 or se420 be an upgrade over Shure E4? I use my E4s with my Ipod while traveling and at the gym. I do use an amp...- Jonoh

Grado RS1 with serial number, how old?
hi, I noted that RS1 owners and sellers have referenced a serial number. I also read about vintage vs newer RS1s. I did not even know there was a serial number on it so out of curiousity, I went and looked at mine. 1119 is written in pen on the left cup, hidden by the ear pad. I know this...- Jonoh

Supermini, Pimeta, minimoy, cmoy?
Hi, I recently acquired a Supermini v3 which is a bit smaller than the newer version that Xin is planning. I am quite impressed with it for the cost which is similar to a good cmoy or used Pimeta or Mini moy. I bought the Supermini out of curiosity and also because I may decide smaller...- Jonoh

Supermini vs Supermacro
Hi, The macro is currently a hot item here in the forums. I recently acquired a used Supermini V3 and I have a macro on order. I am curious if anyone has had both the Supermacro and Supermini, even older versions? I am really impressed with the Supermini for the price. I am wondering what...- Jonoh

Advice needed for a mini to mini cable, suitable for portable use
I have been searching the forums, looking at pictures, etc and I believe what I want is a short, flexible, good sounding cable to hook up my Ipod w/Pocketdock to Supermacro. Ideally, I think, it would be a RA mini out of the Pocketdock to a straight mini into the SM. I would like to stack the...- Jonoh

How does an RS1 benefit from an amp?
Hi, I had a Gilmore Lite and have a Supermacro on order. Right now, I am ampless yet I feel the headphone jack off my CDP is better than most and is enough to get me through till the new SM arrives. Last night, after some listening, I was wondering what improvements from the RS1 I should be...- Jonoh

Supermacro: which opamps for best synergy with RS1s and ER4Ps
As title says, I am comtimplating getting a Supermacro to pair with my Grado RS1s and Etymotic ER4Ps. I am attracted to the SM due to its size and impedence switch but I cannot tell what opamp to order. If the opamps make a difference, I would be looking for speed, speration, detail and...- Jonoh

RS1 with my Gilmore Lite; should I get a portable amp?
Hi, I bought a Gilmore Lite for use with my old Senn 650 and found that a good combination. I have since sold the Senns in favor of smaller phones that I could take with me on business trips and use out of my portable (an Ipod). While my wallet took a beating, I am satisfied at the moment...- Jonoh

Gilmore Lite with RS1
Hi, New owner of RS1 here. I have a Gilmore Lite which IMO did good things for Etymotics and my old 650s. Surprisingly, with the GL, it is still good but I also like it straight out of my CD player headphone jack and even Ipod. I was expecting an obvious difference like I found in my other...- Jonoh

What is a good entry level amp for Ety ER4Ps?
Hi, I see people here have ER4Ps running off of SR71s, Supermacros, Mints, Cmoys...and others I am missing. Amp-wise, where does it start to get really good with portable amps and Etys? I know that at Supermacro money ($250-300) or more, we are at good if not really good performance. If...- Jonoh

Is the Grado Warranty transferable and how long is is?
hi, Sorry, but I have been searching the forum and the web and cannot seem to nail this down. Buying from an authorized dealer gets the Grado warranty but from what I can see, it is not transferable and is only 1 year. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks- Jonoh

Grado: how much to save up for a used RS1 or RS2?
hi, I am thinking of trying out Grado. I like their sound. It is not as spacious as my old Senns but fun and small enough, thanks to their cups swiveling, to actually take with me on business trips. Of the Grado line, the RS series has the largest soundstage which to me, is the big benefit...- Jonoh

Which Grado or Alessandro?
Hi, I am seriously considering trying out some Grados or Alessandros for an extended period. I have tried 225, 325, RS2 and RS1s in an in store demo. I liked the RS1 for sure, the others...I need to try them again. If I go Grado (currently a Senn and Ety owner), I would eventually want...- Jonoh

Gilmore Lite and/or SuperMacro for Etys?
Hi, Has anyone besides Zahn (spelling?) who posted a very detailed and thorough review, have had a chance to compare the Gilmore Lite with the Supermacro for Etys? I just got my Gilmore Lite on Friday and I must say, it is exactly as advertised which means it is good. I cannot compare it...- Jonoh

My experience with Grados, 650/Zu and Ety ER6i
Hi, I recently purchased a 650/Zu based on my previous experience with Sennheiser and opinions shared in this forum. I did not try Grados due to concerns over comfort. Now that I have them, unamped so far, I am impressed but I just wish I could tweak the sound from the 650/Zu a bit...- Jonoh

Gilmore Lite and SuperMacro; anyone heard both with a Senn?
Hi, I have a Senn 650 with Zu Mobius and still wondering around unamped (shame on me). I am interested in one of these amps but have not and will not be able to audition them. I know people like the Gilmore Lite a lot while the SuperMacro is more tweakable and versatile. I really don't...- Jonoh

hi, Newbie here with my first impressions on a used set of 650/Zu I purchased off of Nierika here at Head-fi.org; great guy to do business with btw... My points of reference are Etymotic ER6i and an older pair of Sennheiser hd433. They arrived yesterday, well packaged and in what I...- Jonoh

What 'budget' amp (if any) can drive and bring out the details from a 650?
hi, Title says is all. I finally decided on Senn 650s. Now I need to decide on an amp to pair it with. Source will be my DVD player. Background: I am not interested in upgrading my source unless it breaks. I auditioned a 650 out of a Grace 901 which at $1400 is way more than I want to...- Jonoh

Etymotics ER4P vs Sennheisers 595 or 650
Hi, I can see that many Headfiers here have experience with both the Etymotics and Sennheisers and I am just curious as to why you would have both. The Etys are very good by themselves so what is the draw of adding a 595 or 650? I am currently a happy owner of Ety ER6is but would like to...- Jonoh

help a newbie out...Ety ER4P vs Sennheiser – agonizing over the decision
Hi, I have been doing a lot of searching on headfi and am still at a loss of what to choose. It’s painful. I have an old pair of Sennheiser 433 (inexpensive) and they are nothing special. I recently purchased Etymotic ER-6i and like them a lot. My original plan was to use the 6is for...- Jonoh
