Use full-size headphone amp with iPhone?
So if I were to get a Schiit Magni which has those red and white inputs, I would need something like this? And then if I got a JDS Labs Objective 2, I would just need one of these right? And the quality on these cables (from RAM Electronics) is quite good? Thanks!- Coleb

Use full-size headphone amp with iPhone?
Quote: Thanks for the advice! Does a LOD, Dock, or RCA to dock cable have any difference in quality, or is one better than the other? And I have been looking to buy a LOD, do you know where I could buy a good one for around $30?- Coleb

Use full-size headphone amp with iPhone?
I think I have settled on the Hifiman HE-400. I am going to be running it through my iPhone 4S with a LOD into an amp. I have heard that The O2 and Asgard are both great options and with the newer Magni I may be able to save some money. So I am thinking about one of those. I just want to...- Coleb

Use full-size headphone amp with iPhone?
Hi, this may seem like a strange and newbie question. But can I use a full size (non-portable) headphone amp with my iPhone 4S? I am not planning to use it on the go, its just that my computer (which is a desktop) is in a less then ideal location to listen to music, so I want to use my iPhone...- Coleb

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Quote: Does the DAC work directly out of the iPhone, because I read somewhere that iPhone's require certain DAC's to bypass their internal DAC. Quote: Are there other Grado's in my price range ($400-$500) that are worth putting some research into? Or should I just keep...- Coleb

Alright well I'm ready to take the dive and buy some new headphones. But I can't do it without the help from you guys! I have been doing some research around Head-Fi and found that for my price range, the Sennheiser HD650's, Hifiman HE-400's and Grado SR325is' seem to be the best available...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
Thank you everyone for all of the help! I have made my final decision of getting the Ultrasone HFI-580's and Grado SR325is's with G-Cush. I know its a bit pricy, but this way I get some great Grado's for my rock music and some lively Ultrasone's for electronic! If anyone knows of any...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
So again I'm in a bit of a pickle. I think I am for sure going to get the Ultrasone HFI 580's and then a pair of Grado's. So I hear really good things about the SR225i's but then I looked a step higher and wondered about the SR325is's. So would the SR325is's be a significant upgrade and be...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
Because like someone else said, that a headphone won't work great with all genres and I can't choose one over the other, I am going to go with the option of buying two different headphones, one for each genre. So I will get the Ultrasone HFI 580 for electronic music and most likely a pair of...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
So I just need to make sure that the 780's are good all around headphones for all genres of music. Unless anyone thinks I should get the 680's or a pair of grado's.- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
So I think I've settled on the Ultrasone HFI 780's. I know they will be good for electronic and all, but I just want to make sure that overall they are still a good headphone and I can listen to any genre with them. Unless I should get the 680's or 580's, even though I haven't head good things...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
So the Ultrasone's are really good for electronic music? And the Grado's would be good for other types? While the M50's are all around? So what about say the ATH-Pro700mk2's? Or if I went a step up with the Grado's and got a SR325is? I'm just so indecisive when it comes to this, because I...- Coleb

Ultrasone HFI 780 vs. ATH-M50 vs. Grado SR 225i
Hey guys I'm new to this forum, and heard that it is the place to go, if interested in really quality headphones. I've been doing a lot of research on here and narrowed down to a few pairs that I seem to hear good things about. So I want to be sure that I am getting the best I can by asking...- Coleb
