would a studio monitor such as a krk rokit 5 be a better option then?

What is better in terms of music quality? I am looking for good mids (especially Vocals). I will be mostly using them for (in order) music, ps3 gaming, and blu-ray movies.     Thanks

I would like to connect my KRK Rokit 5 studio monitors to a ps3, but I'm confused on how to do so. Will I need an external sound card, (like my Apogee Duet 2?) (also wouldn't prefer using an external sound card)   I would like to use the XLR input of the studio monitors.   Suggestions?

Thinking of buying Apogee Duet 2 for AMP/DAC purposes for use with my He-400, and also using KRK Rokit 5s studio monitors.   Do you guys thing the apogee duet 2 is a good amp/dac combo for the He-400?

does the asgard come with the 3.5mm mini jack to RCA cable as shown in the pictures?

would be 150 for the streamer + 249 for the Asgard. Within a few months I would hope. 

not 100% decided yet. Might even just go for the Asgard alone and match it up with the HRT Music Streamer Dac to save some money. Or i might try the O2+ODAC after when the reviews come out..which may take awhile...

After researching nonstop all night. I've decided for now I am going to go for the Asgard + Bifrost Combo for my He-400. First I'll get the Asgard and power it up with one of Fiio's DAC until I have enough money to get the Bifrost later on. Apparently Asgard is great for both the He-400 and He-500.

Sorry to barge in but I just have to ask this question. I have recently upgraded to Hifiman He-400, which is obs planar-magnetic phones, is it better to use Tube-amps like Lyr or Valhalla for planar-magnetic phones like the He-400 or is the Asgard good enough itself?    (

What do the isolation cones do? Is it bad if you just stack the two amp and dec on top of each other?

random question: how do you connect the asgaard to bifrost (vice versa)?

Hi   I want to move on from Pro 900s, the mids are just not good enough for me to enjoy most of the music I listen to, even though I love the bass on these things. I've heard the AKG K550 are great overall (everything), and the mids on HE-400 are great.    What you choose if you were in...

budget under $500 (no amp use preferable, straight from macbook pro or iPod), basically genres i mentioned before (RnB, ballad, classical, Kpop, indie)   Any suggestions?
