Can anyone here comment on 2xLME49720HA in I/V? I'm now using 2x49860NA (using headphone out so buffer is irrelevant), would the HA's be an improvement or just a side grade?

The Asus Xonar DGX has a good DAC and I think you would be good with HD598 (which at 50-ohm are quite easy to drive).

Hd600's arrived, all I can is that they completely obliterate my previous HD595. Everything is better, more detailed. Running them from a Xonar Essence for now until I can save up for a proper amp - but that will take some time.   Final verdict: 300€ very well spent 

I could be wrong here, but if you are using the headphone amp you don't need to change the buffer, only the I/V. Quote:

I doubt it's the PSU, I have a HX850 that runs an overclocked Phenom II 1090T, 4x2GB of RAM, overclocked HD5870, 3 SATA drives and 2 SAS drives with a SAS controller, 6 case fans. And your card doesn't pull 34A all the time so in idle you don't even come close to put a strain on the PSU. Hell...
