aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

I got the Creative BT-W4. It connects to my B&W Px7 headphones and ODDICT Twig Pro earbuds in AptX Adaptive. It required a little bit of futzing around with the installation and pairing, but once set up the connection is stable and it sounds good. After having tried many USB Bluetooth dongles...

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?

Has anyone tried the Avantree Clipper Pro?  It looks interesting, in that it supports AptX - Low Latency, and is Bluetooth 4.2.

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?

I was mistaken re those USB dongles.  What I need is something with an analog stereo jack (1/4" or adapter-able) that will take that analog output, convert it to Bluetooth/AptX, and transmit it on a Class 1 radio. I will plug this into the headphone jack of my AVR (an Onkyo TX-NR818). AVR...

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?

Yeah, it would be fine in my living room, but I'd like to be able to walk about the house.

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?

Does anyone know of a Bt 4.x / AptX / AptX-LL Class 1 Source/Transmitter that can plug into an analog 1/4" or 3.5mm jack?  I want to be able to use my Elecom LBT-PAR500 with my AVR.    I've found a few things like this...

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?

I just got the Elecom LBT-PAR500, which seems to be a replacement for the one linked above.  It sounds fantastic!  I loved my HS3000, but it broke, so I got the Elecom as a replacement.  It is a very noticeable improvement - more clear, more powerful/controlled bass. The Elecom is powerful...

Sennheiser HD 6,7 & 8 DJ thread. Opinions, reviews, feedback, pics, discussions, etc.

Surefire EP- series plugs work fine under headphones.  If you want flat frequency response ones that won't mess up your ability to hear the music properly, custom molded Etymotics are the ticket.  If you are a working DJ/musician, you can get them for cheap(ish) from the H.E.A.R. foundation.

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Has anybody heard the Asus Xonar U7?   I have the U3, and like it very much, and am wondering if it's worth an upgrade to get the better S/N ratio and the Dolby Home Theater v4.

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Late to this reply, but in case you haven't done anything yet;  I have AD700s with a ModMic.  It's a great setup.  I also have the Schiit Magni that was recommended further down the thread. It is also terrific.  However, there is absolutely zero benefit to using it with the AD700s.  I have the...

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x

I have AD700s and AD900s, and am considering selling them and getting either the 900x or 1000x.  Could someone clear up a few things for me?   Do the 900x and/or 1000x have angled drivers?  I really like the soundstage and positioning of the AD700, even more than the AD900, and am hoping...

    Protection Relay Amp Suggestion?

The O2 would be nearly ideal if it had a protection relay.

I guess Schiit may have just answered my question with the Magni.  Looking forward to reviews.

    Protection Relay Amp Suggestion?

I'm looking for an amp that has a protection relay.  My fiancee sometimes uses my headphones, and she can't be trusted to power things on/off or plug/unplug things in the right order; I'm a little paranoid about her blowing out my cans.  Aside from the relay, what I'm looking for is a...

solid amplifier Siliconray F-A1 for Beyerdynamic 600 ohm

Any further thoughts on the FA1 now that you've had it for a while?  I'm thinking about getting it for HD650s and Q701s.  Also, could you describe how the protection circuit works?  The description on Siliconray's website is a little hard to understand.   Thanks.

Newbie looking for help, Senn HD558 or AT AD700 for gaming, low budget.

I have the AD700 and use it for gaming (mostly on PC, using an Asus Xonar U3).  It is great.  Good general sound quality, fantastic soundstage with good localization, and really comfortable for extended wear.  To put it in perspective, I also have AD900s and Q701s, but the AD700 is what I use...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Quote: I have a U3.  I like it a lot.  It works great for games (and Skype), and does DH really well.  It would not be my choice for critical music listening, although it is an upgrade to my onboard sound (Alienware M17x R2). I used to have an X-Fi Go! Pro, which was terrible in just about...

There is a second fatal flaw. It comes in Creative products, which will have buggy drivers and virus-like crapware that comes with them.

I have had a U3 for a few weeks, and my experience is pretty much exactly the same as Shadow's.  Nice little card.

Sennheiser MM 450 Travel and the WOWee One, for the traveling Head-Fi'ers - Head-Fi TV, Episode 007

Quote: The other reason for Apt-X is that it reduces latency.  Watching movies is pretty much impossible for me using standard Bluetooth A2DP because of the half second or so lag.  It is curious that Sennheiser has Apt-X support for some of its headphones, but doesn't have it on the...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Quote: I had the X-Fi Go! Pro, returned it, and got a Xonar U3.  Not only was the X-Fi's CMSS / THX-TSP inferior to Dolby Headphone in positioning and audio quality, the Creative card made my computer unstable.  I have been 100% happy with the U3.
