Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Ok, so you're suggesting that a higher resistance in a particular frequency range makes it in practice, louder? Cause think about how amplifiers respond to higher resistance. It is similar to putting a smaller lightbulb somewhere in your house where there was previously a larger bulb. Let's not...- steffanan

NEW! Fostex TH610 Premium Reference Closed-Back Headphones
I don't know what other guys on here think, but I really think mine leak a ton of sound. When I'm showing them off to people, I have to whisper or not talk if I'm in the same room. It makes a noticeable difference to me if I remember to turn off a space heater in the room in which I'm listening...- steffanan

NEW! Fostex TH610 Premium Reference Closed-Back Headphones
hey there, sorry I can't make those comparisons for your, but I'll add that I'm one person like you mentioned who had had the chance to listen to both. Easy decision,I bought the 610s. Honestly, for my music preference and how easily my ears fatigue from sharp highs, I wouldn't have taken the...- steffanan

Flattest, Most Neutral IEMs For Recording, Mixing, and Mastering
I'm interested too. Headphones in ear or over ear typically aren't great for working on a final mix, that's typically the job for bookshelf monitors. Unfortunately, the best custom in ears are still not anywhere near as capable as a decent set of bookshelf speakers set up properly- steffanan

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
hold on there, he's totally correct that lower frequencies require more power on any speakers at all. I mean, you can't get around the physics of how this stuff works.you're physically fighting against a spider, and surround suspension, the further you want that speaker to move, the more power...- steffanan

Bozeman Montana
I have the th-610s and my father has the hd-800s, across the board I pretty much love my 610s for my music preferences and can't stand the hd-800s! I'm just not a fan of open backed headphones though, so it comes with the territory. Also I'm super sensitive to that sharp peak at 6k hz and that...- steffanan

NEW! Fostex TH610 Premium Reference Closed-Back Headphones
Is there a proper th-610 impressions thread somewhere that I have missed? I think there needs to be one if there isn't, because this huge thread has a ton of information but it's sure difficult to access. This thread was from when the th-610 was still a bit of a rumor! When someone is looking...- steffanan

Who should remold my Unique Melody Miracles? Inearz or UM?
Hey there everyone, It's been a few years since I purchased my Unique Melody Miracle IEMs. I love them to death, and it drives me crazy that I can only get a decent seal on certain days, when my jaw is in the exact right position. Time for new molds. My experience with Unique Melody when...- steffanan

Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
build quality is bad, but I once called them and got them to send me a new pair of 400 dollar headphones even though I broke them. I called just to see what they would do, and because they felt bad they covered me. I don't know, not all bad anyway- steffanan

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I just don't understand how someone could like the sound from hd 650's without a large treble boost! Its funny to me how different people hear things. I also think it really matters what you are used to. I just feel like they need way more treble before I could ever consider getting them.- steffanan

How are the Beats Pro, Detox and Studios?
I just hate the natural frequency response of my beats pro's, but I absolutely love the sound of them once I have dropped the lows and boosted the highs. I just feel like other than their crappy response, they are wonderful headphones. I don't even feel like they are a bad deal at all (like...- steffanan
