    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I wasn't impressed with the LCD-3 when I listened to it, so I definitely don't think it's worth the money, but that's just my opinion.

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Just snagged a X1, waiting for it to arrive. Curious to see if I think it will sound different than the X2. Philips have some real good stuff going with the Fidelio X line imo and I couldn't resist the urge to try out both hehe. Don't have the X2 anymore to compare with though.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Sorry :( will look. Well, don't let my impressions spoil your expectations, we all hear differently and have different gear. I had the he400 on loan at one point. From what remember I thought it sounded good, but a little boxed in sound, nice bass. I didnt think the sound was quite good...

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode

No, it's a relatively faint hiss, but unacceptable imo.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Grats, hehe it's a slippery slope, watch out. :) the 650 was the first headphone i got back when it was still new on the market, still enjoying a lot it today. It doesnt distract me, it just let me focus on the music. Comfort and tonality is top notch, and it has nice crisp attack.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I decided to return my X2's and get a refund because the bass was slightly stronger in the left cub.   They are also a little too bright for my taste, and the bass is too lean, not fat enough. I would have liked a little louder mid range too. Bass quality is great, definitely the X2's best...

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode

It's my impression too that tubes works well with the X2's. I tried using the Lyr, and background noise aside, that amp really made the X2's sing. Maybe 6 watts was a little overkill though hehe.

Marshall's new cans, the Monitor headphones

I agree, they sound quite awesome and cool design. It seems to me there's a lot of reverb going on in the sound, but that's what I like about them. and the bass is very nice. I don't have them, but I listened to a lot of headphones in a store today, mostly portables, and they were among them...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

My X2's have arrived from Amazon.it. The left phone has more bass/volume than the right one, treble seems even. I tested with mono dsp in foobar. Not sure, maybe I can live with it.    edit: I do like them otherwise. they look good and the sound is impressing.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on these babies. :D Have anyone seen them cheaper anywhere than 292$ (234€)? That's what they go for on Amazon.it.

I want these headphones! They might be exactly what I'm looking for. Pricey though. Gotta sell off some stuff first..

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

I've bend the headband outward a lot, the clamp was insane before.

Is the Asus Xonar Essence STX and Sennheiser HD650 a good combo?

Keep in mind the ST is slightly better than the STX, and it's a good match with the 650. It won't put special magic sauce into the 650 like an amp with tubes will though. But that can be added later of course.

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Thanks for the link holycheese and derxen, but it seems Italy is the place to buy them from atm. I really don't need another headphone, but Tyll's review of these has infected me with a bad case of upgradetytis. :( However I probably need to sell off some gear to justify getting them..

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**

I think we can agree that the HD650 and HE-400 sounds quite different, and both have their pros and cons. I prefer the HD650 more.

Quote:   Don't know the JDS o2, but I used to use mine with a Sony Bean portable mp3 player, and I thought it sounded good enough. It doesn't take much to get good volume out of it.

Rank the Headphones that You Own.

Ranked by best sound quality    1. HE-6 - Grand sound stage, and weighty clean sound with great resolution in the highs, and fast bass. Handles fast and complex music with ease. Impressive, and engaging sound with most recordings. It's a bit bright in the tonal balance, and could use more...

    Creative Aurvana Live!

Got the CAL's today. Very yummi sound! They're smaller that I would have liked, but that's ok, they fit my ears fine, they're very comfortable and light. Very good isolation too, that's a big plus. I like the ear pads, nice soft material. The build quality seems good, except for the flimsy...

    Your biggest 'WOW' Factor Headphones

The first set of headphones that really wowed me big time was listening to the HD650 on a X-Can amp years ago. I remember it was such a warm, impressive sound, and it didn't take long before I bought a pair. Since then the most impressive headphone I've heard is the HE-6.

Ok, thanks. I have normal sized ears, so hopefully they'll fit fine.

I'm thinking about picking these up, it sounds like they're a good deal. I can get them locally for 67$. Comfort is my main priority, are they as comfortable as, say, the HD650, do they clamp much, and can the clamp be adjusted?
