Help finding headphones for Dub/Electronic please
I know this has been asked before, I've searched around...but I have a few special needs on my search. I'm looking for a decent pair of headphones for my electronic music. I own the HD600's and think they sound pretty damn good for just about all my music, but I bought my HD600's for...- StringBoi

Android phones and USB DACs
Quote: I'd prefer not to be stacking components upon components. I want something slim, quick to take out of my pocket or backpack (while in use) and the ability to make use of the amp foremost, DAC functionality second. If I can get them both to work in the same unit later on (when and...- StringBoi

Quote: I'm pretty sure I'll be going to Canlanta, being that its so close to me....trying to talk a friend to come along with me. I would really love to try out what some of the more seasoned audiophiles have. Rckyosho, posted above that the D-Zero does come with two of the...- StringBoi

CanLanta 2013
I live here in Midtown and would love to come check everything out. I've never been to an event like this, and I'm pretty new with my gear. I dont have anyting portable to bring except my HD600's. Is it acceptable to show with just your cans to talk and try out other stuff....I could probably...- StringBoi

Android phones and USB DACs
Do you know if this comes with the silicon bands that attach the units together, I didnt see them listed in the package on their site. I see rubber feet, but I'm assuming thats for table use? After doing some digging around, I take it FiiO doesnt sell those bands separately? Is there a good...- StringBoi

Android phones and USB DACs
Awesome....thank you for clearing that up. Phone audio is foreign to me and I never really payed much attention to it until now. I thought I'd never need to worry about it because I do my critical listening at home and thats easier to understand when making a purchase. I'd rather not...- StringBoi

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
Quote: I bought the Audioengine DS2 stands for my 4's, they would work well for the 5's as well. They really help with having the correct angle, same goes for turning the speakers in and having the tweeters pretty much angled to your ears. You can hear a difference when they are...- StringBoi

Android phones and USB DACs
Quote: I'm using a pair of Logitech UE 500's atm, nothing high end or hard to drive. But I did notice since getting them a few weeks ago that I have to turn the volume up to almost max on my iPhone to hear some songs, especially while walking here in the city with the cars passing...- StringBoi

Android phones and USB DACs
I'm in the market for my first portable amp to use only with my phone. At the moment I have an iPhone, but I want to switch to a Galaxy S4 when it comes out. I dont know much about phone audio and was a little confused about compatability between iPhones and other devices like the Galaxy. ...- StringBoi

Amp for dedicated use with an iPhone or Galaxy S
So what I've been confused about is how these things connect to your phone. I'm guessing the issue here with having an iPhone and possibly switching to a Galaxy S would be connectivity? The iPhone would need to connect via the pin port on the bottom, and the Galaxy would connect via USB?- StringBoi

Amp for dedicated use with an iPhone or Galaxy S
So is a DAC even necessary for phone use? I dont know much about phone audio and I was unaware until recently that they even had a DAC in them.....an amp should be sufficient? I have a different setup for home/desktop use so I'm only concerned with using this with either an iPhone or Galaxy S...- StringBoi

Amp for dedicated use with an iPhone or Galaxy S
How is the JDS C5 in terms of size. It looks a bit on the bulky side. I'd really like something easy to carry with me in my backpack and to use at work.- StringBoi

Amp for dedicated use with an iPhone or Galaxy S
I'm looking to purchase an amp solely for portable use with my current iPhone 4......I'm planning on switching to the Galaxy S4 when it comes out. I've read in another thread that most amps with DAC's, their DAC's get bypassed by the phones on most models....I'm unsure if this is correct? ...- StringBoi

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Quote: Both the ST and STX have a headphone amp already in the jack to power headphones up to 600ohms. I own the ST and a pair of 600's and believe me, you do not need anything unless your gonna go for a desktop setup =)- StringBoi

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Makes sense, I've have never owned a stand alone component to drive my headphones yet and was wondering if they would add anything more to the picture....being that they are made specifically for one purpose. I think my headphone upgrade from the 600's would probably be the 800's. I've only...- StringBoi

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I'm looking to do an upgrade to my source to get a little more out of my HD600's. I listen from my PC, all FLAC through a Xonar Essence ST sound card. The sound card is amazing, 24bit DAC and Amp already on it....but I was wondering if I would get a noticeable sound upgrade if I moved to a...- StringBoi

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
Quote: I'm using a Harman Kardon sub at the moment, from my home theater system...it only has RCA inputs, thats why I had to split the RCA from the sound card. I am using an Asus Xonar Essence ST card...it has RCA L/R outputs. I had asked the reps at Emotiva how to connect a sub using...- StringBoi
