Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Looks incredible! I just bought the black Massdrop version and honestly they look 9000% better on my head than the old silver. They look EXPENSIVE with those mods! This is exactly what the KSC needed to elevate them to true legendary status! That crappy cord connection was always the Crux. I'll...- Xaborus

i-Fi SPDIF iPurifier impressions
Received my SPDIF iPurifier two days ago. Have been burning it in with my Modi Multibit DAC non-stop sense they were unboxed. Didn't bother to listen to them without burn in. Listened today and I noticed a noticeable noise coming from my headphones when no music was playing. My audio chain...- Xaborus

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
Something interesting- my batteries died in my JDS Labs Cmoy, and I happened to have a RCA to 3.5mm Female adapter cable on hand. I plugged my Meze Audio 99 Classic Headphones directly into the DAC, and the DAC alone easily drives the headphones to louder levels that I never use!- Xaborus

i-Fi SPDIF iPurifier impressions
Unfortunately I'm still waiting for it to ship from Music Direct. I saw other stores had them in stock but I only buy audio equipment through authorized dealers. I'll be sure to post impressions as soon as I have a hold of it!- Xaborus

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
I'm going to contact Schiit and see if they'all take a recommendation at creating a super low jitter, super clean, ARM processor computer to create the digital signals for their DAC's. Seems like their is a lot of interest in low jitter, bit perfect computers and it would be a perfect spot to...- Xaborus

It's funny you mention this because I was also looking at buying a Raspberry Pi3 with a HiFiBerry + to use TOSLINK out with Tidal.- Xaborus

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
Only if you're talking about USB. TOSLINK and COAX are virtually identical regardless of source- aslong as output is bit perfect. It's also awesome that TOSLINK and COAX from the same source will measure 99.9% the same, regardless of cable quality. Minor differences do exist, but they are so...- Xaborus

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
You won't have to do anything other than set the audio output in your PC to SPDIF/TOSLINK out. Nothing is being converted in the onboard dac. The digital music signal/bits gets "written" into digital optical bits, and is sent through the fiber optic cable where it is received and "read" and then...- Xaborus

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
I just wanted to chime In and let people know that you really should be using TOSLINK with Modi MB. I'm not blowing smoke on unsubstantiated claims. Here are measurements made. The difference between USB and TOSLINK is extreme in some measurements, including jitter; not to mention free galvanic...- Xaborus

New Dragonfly Black and Red Discussion
Hello all! I just received a Dragonfly Red and although it sounds fantastic, I'm having a really odd problem with it. While playing music it will intermittently produce digital sounds. What i mean by this is obvious digital problems, I'm not talking about making the music sound bad, but...- Xaborus

Nervana: Neurotransmitter stimulating IEM's?
They should just make an app and sell it for $5. Teens will flock to the "legal high", media will blow things out of proportion just like they did with binaural beats; they will get tons of free advertising and rake in boatloads of money. If not, someone else will - Xaborus

Just bought these and received these yesterday. Honestly, I don't feel like I have anything to add to the discussion; I wont be doing a long review. Long story short: if you're thinking about buying these, buy them. Now. Just splurge and do it. If you aren't thinking about buying these (and...- Xaborus

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
You're also forgetting the pono's native format is FLAC. Headunits usually can't read Flac. Only mp3 or wav usually. So digital output on the pono would be pointless for car audio.- Xaborus

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
In reguards to Neil's car, at one point in the video you can see tweeters near the a-pillar. So its pretty obvious his speaker system is not stock, and assuning he's smart and knows that his campaign relies on marketing, probably high-end.- Xaborus

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
Jesus this year has been an amazing year for hi-fi. New optimal headphone EQ curves (Focal spirit classic + pro / NAD hp50), and now this. Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Will be changing title back by end of the day. Sorry guys, I used to be a salesman. Its hard turning the "pitch" off sometimes. Forgive me for my ignorance though, but isn't square wave response just other way of interpreting frequency response and phase shift? Great find with the...- Xaborus
