Recommendations for a portable amp to go with my westone 3
Hey just some advice for the future: converting all your existing files to lossless won't do you any good. If the music file has already been compressed, it has already "lost" the information one would retain by using a lossless format originally. You cannot decompress a file and get that...- taylorpoz

Matrix M-Stage amp review: simple, cheap, and excellent.
Quote: Cool beans. Thanks for your input. I think I'm gunna go ahead and get the M-Stage w/ USB DAC and use that with the K701s i will also be getting. If i had the cash, I would go for Bifrost + Valhalla, but hopefully that will come later. For now, the m-stage should do more than well...- taylorpoz

What is 24/192?
Ok so back to the point head injury made awhile back about recording and mastering being more important than bit rate or depth... what exactly goes on the process of "mastering" a recording? What's the general purpose?- taylorpoz

What is 24/192?
Quote: Oh it's not that I'm craving hi res files, it's more based on simple curiosity. What you said about recording/mastering quality makes a lot of sense. So even then, the quality of music that is available to us is limited by how accurately that music is produced. ...- taylorpoz

What is 24/192?
Ok cool. So basically, we the consumers are limited to how hi res we can listen to our music based upon what resolutions record labels want to release their music at. That kinda sucks. But then again, there may not be much of an audible difference anyway... Salm0n, you mentioned...- taylorpoz

What is 24/192?
Quote: Yah, I understand. It's a very subjective subject and in my opinion, any benefits heard through higher bitrate files is probably placebo. But in any case, if CD's are only 16/44.1, what is the source of 24/96 and 24/192 files?- taylorpoz

What is 24/192?
I can't find a straight answer anywhere. Does 24/192 refer to a specific file type or all file types? How do I make sure that I'm ripping 24/192 with EAC? So confused!- taylorpoz

5.1 to 2.0(Stereo)? HELP!
So your goal is to hook the CD player up to the receiver? If you have RCA jacks for your phones, you could experiment with the outs on the CD player and see if you can get good sound out of either the front or surround (labeled in the second pic). Or even better, use the optical out. Im no... -
1 $ for Hisound’s new released ROCOO player???
