    Android phones and USB DACs

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I would just like to report that CEntrance DACport (the one with the AMP, not LX) is fully compatable with Samsung Galaxy Note 4.   I tested it with both UAPP and the pre-installed, stock music app, as well two games: Dodonpachi Ressurrection and...

    Android phones and USB DACs

I just got my Galaxy Note 4, and am looking into a mobile setup with a DACport. (buying an external battery and a Y OTG cable to power it) Now I know that the DACport should most likely work with UAPP, as reported.   But my question is, for anyone who knows: will it work without UAPP...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Just received my Sound Blaster Z, initial impressions are good. Like the overclock.net thread said, SBX surround offers a good middle ground. I have tried both TiHD with CMSS-3D and Xonar with Dolby Headphones. It used to be the choice between the "hollow" sound of Dolby Headphones and...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

got this from the audioengine website Considering the annis are rated at 65ohms, i'd say the D1 should be more than enough to drive it. Having the the knob as such a low position probably means that there's too much gain. Sorry, not sure what to do if you can't adjust the gain.

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Not at all, I think I paid $50 for it, pretty good price, considering that was quiet a few years ago.     I meant i was gonna try plugging my amp directly into the sound card when my z arrives.   Logic would dictate that my huge and (relatively) expensive dedicated external dac board...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Thanks guys for the answers, I just ordered the Z card off amazon with the mic (kinda wanna try out the noise cancelling feature) Creative really need to clarify their products better, especially their binaural surround technology. To this day all we really know about their qualities come from...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Hi guys, I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find anything regarding it   In my current setup, I have: Titanium HD mini-toslink out > Zero DAC > Matrix M-stage > K702 annis   now if i want to try out the SBX Pro Studio in the Z series, is it enough for me to...

    AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition

Just got my annis last night, #651 I've been lurking on head-fi for years, and this is gonna be the first post in which i contribute something.   I have owned, at one time or another, ath-esw9, ath-ad700, dt880(32ohm), pc360, and q701. Unfortunately i sold my q701 to pay pay for the annis...

    Have I been ripped off?

Just the other day, I ordered a pair of DT880 off ebay. The item was listed as the 250ohm version. However the version I received is the 32ohm one. I did a search on headfi, and found that people generally think that the 250ohm version is superior because of its less reliance on current...

Hiss from Zero DAC... is no longer a problem after my opamp burnt out

Thanks man. O wow, did you know you can order free samples from the Liner Technology website? Just ordered 2 "sample" LT1364's from there. Being a student has its advantages it seems.

Hiss from Zero DAC... is no longer a problem after my opamp burnt out

NOOOOOOOOOOO I was just messing around with my dac when I put one of the opamps in the preamp section backwards. it made the opamp smoke and probably burnt it out...  Hopefully it didn't kill the circuit. *sigh* time to start looking in to those opamp upgrades.

Hiss from Zero DAC... is no longer a problem after my opamp burnt out

Just received my Zero DAC today. This is my first DAC, and my first attempt at a good sound system. This was suppose to me my glorious start on the road to an audiophile. Imagine my horror when this hiss assaulted my ears! The hiss seems to be coming from somewhere inside the dac, and it gets...

    Noob compy question

I'm not experienced nor well read, so I probably can't advise you on that matter. However, what I can do is to tell you is what I have. Minus the headphones, adds up to just about 200. What I would do with the extra 50 dollars is to switch the UCA202 with a M-audio transit. or, if another 50...

    Noob compy question

The best way to upgrade audio coming from your computer depend on your budget. If you do decide to get a sound card, then it's very easy to install, just take the old one out of its socket and put the new one in. I'm not sure since i've never looked into soundcards, but I think they all have...
