If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

So I've been doing some in-depth listening on these SRs. I was curious how these would sound with a little more bass (somewhat akin to what one would find on the XR) So I equalized about 4 to 5 dB at 30 hz slowly fading to flat at 500 hz. It sounds good to have the additional bass response in...

Out of all these Iems which has the over all best bang for the buck clearest sound and picks up the most micro details?

I don't have any of those but I do have the er4sr, so i can kind of imagine what the xr may sound like. The xr may be a tiny bit on the cool side but if you are looking for something that does everything well I think it may suit you. If you are really looking for bass it may still be too lean...

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm gonna try this tomorrow and I'll report back. I'm starting to become more accustomed to the triflanged tips but they still feel awful compared to most in-ears Trying these out right now, liking the deadmau5 song a lot!

You know I actually almost ordered the ER4PT but I settled on the SR for the newer features. I'm pretty happy with the SR in my brief few hours with it. Would you happen to have any song recommendations that sound good on your Etys?

So I just got my pair of ER4SRs today in the mail and I would like to share some first impressions with everyone.   The packaging is beautiful and the 'phones themselves come with plenty of accessories. The documentation is a nice touch as well.   Before I get into the initial impressions of...

    KOSS IL100/200 KTC Impressions thread

That's really interesting. Sometimes I myself find the DJ 100 to be overly bassy (only sometimes), then again I'm by no means a bass head. but I do love those cans to death.   Would be great for someone who want's a similar sound as the DJ 100 with more bass though.

    KOSS IL100/200 KTC Impressions thread

Nice review, Now I want a pair lol. The koss dj pro 100 headphones are excellent concerning mids as well, so I'm wondering if a lot more of their headphones/iems have this same quality   Could you tell more about the soundstage by any chance? It's one of my favorite parts concerning sound...

    Hi, AAC/m4a 256kbps or MP3 320kbps?

Quote: +1   Difference will be very little if even noticeable. the most important thing about digital media is the quality of the rip instead of the format, for instance a rip from 2001 may not sound as good as one from 2011. Granted Format does play a role in the case of 64kbps vs...

Sub $100 on-ear headphones that cancel noise really well?

Koss Dj Pro 100 are close to what the M50 sound like, some even say better. They are on-ear, Isolate decently, and can be had for like $50 I think. Some say they need an amp but its not that necessary, Still great without one but it does help   EDIT: Just noticed on your page you have amps...

    Android Music Players!

The only one I've ever tried is Mixzing, which sounded alright to me. I like how it gave me an EQ but I don't like the ads. I'm coming from a droid running Android 2.0 though so lol yeah.    Gotta love Pandora, led me to a lot of the music I now enjoy today. That's what puts a smile on my face.

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

Quote: Thanks for that. I don't think I'm going to need to because I figured out that the amp I was using to power these was what was making them imbalanced. so I messed with the volume on that and now everything sounds right. I feel dumb but lol lesson learned, check out your source before...

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

Well I let my set dry out and they sound the same, maybe a little more bright but sonic memory is unreliable. The biggest problem is now one of the drivers is louder than the other and seems to be putting off just a tad bit more bass. I worked around the imbalance on my clip by shifting the...

hhnguyen504 those look too cool, great idea there. Turns out earlier today I washed mine (by mistake of course) so hopefully my set recovers. who knows maybe getting the drivers a little wet might improve the sound lol.

Bang for the buck portable headphones at 50$ max

Quote: If you liked the sound of the HM3, and if you feel comfortable paying for it then I would say go for it.   The jvc has-160 is supposed to be a great bang-for-buck headphone. I'm not sure on the foldable headband but from pics I would say they can't lol   If you have any...

How many of you have ONE pair of headphones??

Quote:   I don't think it's as good as everyone makes it out to be. I think my HD555 easily bests it in detail, soundstage, accuracy. But the dj 100s do sound funner to listen to on some genres. Yeah I'm looking for something to replace them but money is low lol.

How many of you have ONE pair of headphones??

Quote:   Seems to be the case with me. I have 2 pairs of full-sized headphones, the HD555 (595 mod) and the Koss Pro DJ 100. I also have 2 IEMs and 1 cheap portable headphone, if those count. One of my IEMs is the Monoprice, the other is sansa clip buds lol

    The discovery thread!

Quote:   That's too funny lol   So I know these buds are cheap and everything but hows the build quality? They look pretty solid from the pictures that I've seen but looks can be deceiving. I'm not that rough with my IEMs but I could be gentler if need be.
