Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
I found myself going back and forth on the tape mod... never thought about just running one side with tape and other side open. I'm sure it depends on the song, but it seems to equalize and get the best of both worlds without sounding weird at all IMO. But I guess it might wear the drivers...- yellojello

You can search for a single outlet power switch to use... there should have been a power switch though.- yellojello

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
Since I moved my Magni 2 for my digital piano and HD600, I needed a replacement desktop amp. Was considering to just getting another Magni 2 or Uber, since I have the Modi 2, but wanted to try something else. Considered the Grace Designs and Chord Mojo, but wanted a desktop solution without...- yellojello

The Cayin C5 portable power house.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a desktop (non-battery) dac/amp that performs and sounds similar to the Cayin C5? I had the Schiit Modi 2 / Magni 2 combo, but moved the Magni 2 to my Digital Piano permanently. In place, I am using my C5 with the Modi 2. I don't really like plugging...- yellojello

Zero Audio - ZH-DX200 Carbo Tenore | ZH-DX210 Carbo Basso (Carbon & Aluminium IEM) thread
Just got the Shozy Zero's. Fit wise, Zero's are almost as comfortable as the Tenore's being a tad bigger. Sound wise, they will give you a little bit more bass quantity and warmer sound, but the sound quality is very good. I love both the Tenore's and Zero's.- yellojello

Shozy Zero IEMs
Probably depends on which tree was sourced for each batch. The older the tree, the more sub bass it has. You can open up your Zero's and count the rings in the wood to check the age.- yellojello

Shozy Zero IEMs
Finally got mine. Initial impressions was pretty strong bass, but a little loose. Overall warm sound, but not super clear throughout. Seems to be getting better the more I listen to it. Comparing to my favorites XB90, 800ST/7550, and similarly priced Zero Audio Tenores, which have a very...- yellojello

Digital Piano Headphones
I ended up getting a hd600 from a trade and they are awesome with the Magni 2 for the digital piano. I have yet to use it for music listening yet.- yellojello

*Official Schiit Magni/Modi 2 ( Uber ) Thread*
@davixx500 did you get the correct voltage power adapter, since you are in Germany? 115V US or 230V Euro. Well. I assume you have the correct one cause the US prongs wouldn't even fit your outlet anyway. Just a thought.- yellojello

Digital Piano Headphones
Resurrecting again... I just bought a Roland FP-30 digital piano, and wanted to see what amps people were using. Most of my headphones sound great, but I think the volume can be just a tad higher. I already have a Schiit Modi Magni stack at work, but wanted something for the piano. I was...- yellojello

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread
@Mad Max I did confirm that all my IEM's and Over Ear work fine with the Magni. You are probably right that it is damaged. They sound fine at medium volumes and below. What are the signs of a bad cable (The cable has no signs of wear or tears)? Replacing the cable or doing detachable cable...- yellojello

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread
@PaneraiMan I bought my DT 770 80 ohm in 2009, not sure if it makes a difference. Anyway, I haven't used them for many years and let my friend borrow them. I just got them back yesterday, and have a Schiit stack. Low Sensitivity switch, I get the same issues around 70% and up when there is...- yellojello

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread
Just got these in, and it's taking time for me to adjust from my usual basshead iem use. I've tried all the recommended combinations, and find the treble is pretty sharp and sibilant... that is, at medium-high to high volumes. At low to medium volumes, it sounds pretty good, with the mids very...- yellojello

Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones
Does anyone have insight on the wired vs wireless sound? Also, if you use the cable with the wireless, does it disable the internal amp and sound identical to the wired versions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- yellojello

@vapman how do you rate the VE Monk Plus buds in terms of bass? Might be the best deal for $5-$10? I too have Shozy Zero's on the way, so I won't be anticipating the bass for those. @warrior1975 i agree, the fit of the elecoms is not that great but ok, maybe depends on ear size. But for...- yellojello

I've never heard the Angie either, but if you are looking for more bass, most likely you need a different IEM. I would do that first, and then get an amp. Lots of good recommendations here, have you narrowed down any ones yet? But welcome to head-fi, where you will have an endless pursuit of...- yellojello

GR07 BE was also one of my first "high end" iems, second to my Panasonic HJE900 when I first started. Before head-fi, my lost but loved Sennheiser earbuds from an iriver mp3 player combo was awesome... hoping the VE Monk Plus will fill that void when it comes. It's amazing how many more options...- yellojello

GR07 BE has good bass, but can't compare with the basshead list. Haven't heard the Elecom HH1000A, but I also found the Fidue A73 to sound very similar to the GR07 BE. Testing the Zero Audio Duoza, might also be comparable. I chose A73 over GR07 BE for better fit and comfort to my ears.- yellojello

EX800ST 7550. Schiit Magni with EQ sub bass up and treble down. Also Cayin C5 with bass boost and no EQ. Both transmit tons of power, and damnnnnn bass is so loud that it tickles and rumbles the ear canal no joke. I don't want to go any louder I think I'll go deaf... surprised I'm not already.- yellojello

Using the Schiit Modi/Magni 2 stack. Haven't played with iphone 6 alone or Cayin C5 yet, but yea, for the price, you do get tons of bass and decent sound. Definitely top 10 basshead in it's price range.- yellojello

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
Quick listens from amazon japan shipment: Elecom EHP-CA3570 13.6mm driver ($13): Pretty huge bass, but loose and not so clean. Mids recessed, Treble is sibilant. EQ'ed can make sound a little cleaner. Not bad for price. Elecom EHP-CA3580 15.4mm driver ($16): A tad more sub-bass, a little...- yellojello

I just received my ex800st (7550) from Japan. Been using the xb90 for a while now as my favorite. At first hearing, I was underwhelmed by the bass, high treble, and was messing with the eq to make it sound better, asking myself, did I pay this much for this? Oh yea, I remembered the word...- yellojello

SZaudio deal and I was sold. I think all of us are always looking for an end-game, which is probably impossible, but hoping this is close. I liked the A83 for it's excellent mids, except wanted a little smoother treble and a bit more bass. Hopefully FLC8S is the one to bring it. I've been...- yellojello
