Problem with the GD3A is some harshness in the highs, I guess it's why on the video you can see the (wide bore) stock tips are used on the GD5, not on the GD3A. To tame the highs a bit, you have to use some tips with narrower bore, that's what I did with with mine, they sound pretty good now...

I'm in the same boat concerning bass, bass is soft with any genre I listen to. I can't expect it to be as tight and fast as BA, but I know DD can do better than this, there's no punch/impact when needed.
