The only reason I use an amp for home listening is to remove the background noise from the DX50. The HO is very noisy. Sound is still great, just clouded by a layer of uniform hiss. So an amp is a great improvement if you like a clean, black background.     Quote:

No, you won't be double amping. Line out uses the DAC from DX50 and amp from whichever device you plug you line in to. Set the volume to the highest you can tolerate on DX50 and adjust the volume using your amp.

What about crossfade!?

Factory reset is easily the solution for most freezes. While it is unintuitive and possibly un-userfriendly, making a habit to reset your DX50 before initiating a new card scan really clean things up. Think reinstalling windows over an existing installation vs clean format and reinstall.

I doubt anyone will seriously consider using a SSD as an OTG solution. It's just not cost effective enough to be used as a music storage medium.

I always do a data wipe / factory reset before letting the DX50 scan the card whenever I make changes to the SD card.

It's called all music for a reason...

Does it help if you run a quick format on the drive after connecting it to your PC? Wipe the internal storage clean, do a factory reset again and see if it helps.

Well.... Some people like to drive a shiny new car around with a car cover on........ I'm guessing the same group of people would want to hide the true beauty of the DX50 too :)

Wonder what you would do if you just want to listen to one CD of an album and nothing more..... The problem here would be playlist management, which is different from the multi CD tagging "problem" that you mentioned.

I let it play by the disc because I tag my discs by album - CD# if there are more than one disc. I then create a playlist with all the discs if I want to play the whole "album". Only annoying thing is that I can't rename playlists so that's a major inconvenience when managing multiple playlists.

I beg to differ. Naming discs this way sounds like a very logical thing to do for a multi CD album. I wouldn't even call this a fix - it's just normal for some people to name their albums this way.

Agreed. Fantastic sound (separation, soundstage, power output) and great build quality and design for the price. A heck of a bargain if it can be bought even cheaper second hand. If you manage to get a stable unit loaded with tidied up files, the DX50 offers the best sound in the smallest...

I don't think iBasso is obliged to refund if the buyer doesn't like the sound. Wouldn't be surprised if they do though, given how accommodating they have been.

Did your friends compare your DX50 with headphone out to their DX50 with headphone out? Or just a bunch of amps fed by the DX50 via lineout?

Shouldn't be too difficult to implement actually, I would think scrolling to a very exact point of time for a 3 hour track is not easy with that bar.

I had half a FLAC icon stuck on my playing window that will not go away no matter what. A system wipe fixed it. Try wiping with on + vol up menu. Might help.
