You cannot workout with the 840s, no matter what kind of workout. The headband of the 840 is so bulky that even tilting the head causes the headphones to slide right off.

You can only play 16bit through the D12, you need a different dac to play at 24bit. I dont think you will even be able to hear the difference between the 16bit and 24bit audio on your current rig.

If you find 530s lacking in bass, then you will not be happy with TF10s. W3 and IE8 will be the better choices.

Usually onboard sound card arent very good, especially the ones on the laptop which is why you are finding it lacking compared to your ipod. You should consider investing in a dac/amp combo, it will help make quite an improvement in SQ. You can try entry level dac/amps like Fiio E7
