Anybody catch these vintage Pioneer SE-30 cans, circa 1971 (post #653)? I just bought a pair off CL for $30. They sound great and seem to be more efficient than my Senn. HD650. PS: I'm only up to post #811 so far. What a time suck, but a great thread. Quote:- aabottom

Headphone amp- Singlepower Audio Extreme with Sennheiser HD650
Score! A friend of mine brought over his headphone tube amp for me to try. He’s letting me use it for a few weeks in exchange for working on his bicycle, how sweet is that? It’s the Extreme model made by Singlepower Audio Inc (apparently defunct). The L&R output tubes have makings: on...- aabottom

dB per milliWHAT? Efficiency vs. Sensitivity vs. "How loud do they really go?"
Quote: I will try to explain the derivation of my equation. To avoid confusion, I’ve changed some of my nomenclature. The V in dB/V refers the SI unit of 1 volt (in the International System of Units). The terms V1 and V3, elsewhere, refer to variables representing the potential difference...- aabottom

I'm torn between headphones and IEM. Need help! RE0 vs ATH-M50/ES7/AD700 or any other suggestions.
My Senn. HD650 sound way better than my HIFiMAN RE0. For in home use, I'll always use the HD650. I got the RE0 for portable players and air travel. The HD650 are pricyer than the RE0, but they're worth every penny. If your on the fence, just get the RE0 because they're cheap but...- aabottom

At what length does gauge matter?
Quote: Your measurement of 0.4 ohms for 15 feet of AWG 24 agrees quite well with the value calculated using data from the Wikki wire guage table. (15 feet) x (25.67 ohm)/(1000 feet) = 0.385 ohm Science is great!- aabottom

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
I finaly bought my Head-Direct RE0. I'll be using them for plane trips and portable audio. I'm looking forward to hearing how they sound plugged into my new Levono W500 laptop PC. The only decent headphones I can compare them to are my newly acquired Senn. HD650. Stay tuned.- aabottom

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I just got my Sennheiser HD 650. They sound great! This is my first decent set of headphones since I got my Realistic LV-10 circa 1975. Um... er... were they decent? . For now, I'm just running them off the headphone jack of my Yamaha RX-797 receiver. I also just got a Yamaha DVD-S2700...- aabottom
