How much could I likely fetch for a week old pair of LCD-4z's?
They were a gift and the I the midrange dip is not something I could live with. To be clear they were new when I got them. They probably have 2-3 hours on the them.- essential-oils

the treble on my jh16 has gotten so harsh that it's almost impossible to comfortably listen to music for more than 5 minutes. Any ideas on why this could have happened?- essential-oils

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
does anyone know of a place in Chicago to test these puppies out? For what it's worth i've called Shure HQ (suburbs of Chicago) numerous times and they have no clue where you could test these.- essential-oils

The JH16 Pro Impressions Thread
Had six beautiful months with my JH 16's, and then I got cocky and went out and got a 2.2 channel system. Now the 16's don't sound as good anymore :( But where they do still win, hands down, no questions asked, is their clarity and low-end definition.- essential-oils

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
The other thing to remember with higher-end IEMs is that you don't have to worry about room acoustics, a sweet spot, and such. You just stick the suckers in your ear canal & you're ready to go. I will concede that I listen to only electronic music, and that my experience & views would...- essential-oils

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
Quote: Let's think of it this way: Are you going to be getting a better bass response from sitting in a large room with big subwoofers, or from having 4 little subwoofers hermetically sealed in your ear canal? Obviously, both experiences are different. However, the razor sharpness is...- essential-oils

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
Quote: I have a $16,000 hifi system & an $1149 pair of CIEMS. There are certain aspects of both that the other doesn't come close to matching. Soundstage & Body goes to the hifi system, there's not fight there. Even with $8,000 worth of subwoofers, the hifi system doesn't come close to...- essential-oils

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
Quote: I made the same switch earlier this year, and I have the same sentiments as you. I'm not going to lie I truly miss the midcentric-ness of the Shure's, but the low-end on the 16'ss is just so addicting. Still very curious as to what these will sound like.- essential-oils

JH Audio JH16 Pro First Impressions
So for the past month or so I've been shopping for a big audio system for my living room. I think I've finally figured out what I'm getting, it's around $10,000, and here's the best part--my JH 16's w/freq are still better. I mean, the clarity and low-end definition on the 16's is just...- essential-oils

JH Audio JH16 Pro First Impressions
Quote: Totally agreed, for most types of music. With electronic music i think it's less difficult for a CIEM to match or exceed certain qualities of full sized cans. I will say that vocals on the 16's are a little disappointing. They're still great, but they are definitely a bit veiled...- essential-oils

Quote: Nah, I'm driving them with the CEntrance DacMini. I agree, the vocals are better on the he-500 vs jh16, but the lack of low-end definition, drive & impact kind of just ruins the experience. Gonna have to pop on the waiting list for the LCD3.- essential-oils

Upon hearing all the stelar reviews from Headfiers on how great the HE-500's are with electronic music, I went ahead and borrowed them from the Cable Company along with CEntrance miniDac. Has anybody else found it hard to adjust to full size cans after years of IEM/CIEM use?
I've been a strict IEM/CIEM for a good 6 years. I just got the HiFiMan he-500 recently, and I just seem to be having a really hard time adjusting to the new sound. It doesn't seem nearly as bright or alive as my CIEM's. Has anyone else experienced this?- essential-oils

JH Audio JH16 Pro First Impressions
Lately I've been noticing that the 16's just have such an easy time reproducing great sound. I wish I could explain it better. It's as if it's effortless, & the effortlessness is noticeable. The effortlessness leads to such a smooth fluidity. Needless to say, I'm a happy camper.- essential-oils

JH Audio JH16 Pro First Impressions
I've gotta admit, this RSA predator sounds like crap with my 16's. When I spend an hour with someone else's it sounded amazing with my 16's, but mine just sounds really muddled and messy, with subpar low frequency extension. Not sure if it's that I got a regular usb cable for it, or burn-in is...- essential-oils

Went on Friday for an hour. Being the blowhard I am, I neglected to read that this is chiefly a home audio show. At least I got to finally try the LCD-3's--divine--and the HD 800's. Hesitating to pull the trigger
I recently upgraded from my se535's to the JH 16's. I'm having slight fit issues--the seal is not great. Even with a poor seal, the sound is leaps and bounds better than the shure's. I'm too attached to send them back in, I will soon. But I really wouldn't worry about fit issues, just follow...- essential-oils
