GUIDE: Dolby Headphone in MPC & Zoom Player
Yeah. Razer Surround provides a virtual audio device that simulates surround via software. It will work for all sources (games, movies, music, etc.). I don't own any hardware with Dolby headphone but I would imagine you just need (at most) the driver software to enable the surround function...- xviruz

See if the 2shared one has what you want: http://www.head-fi.org/t/405417/guide-dolby-headphone-in-mpc-zoom-player/30#post_8971211 I also had this locally, might be newer: http://www51.zippyshare.com/v/192Tjpq3/file.html Probably still the same steps to get it to work. It's super...- xviruz

GUIDE: Dolby Headphone in MPC & Zoom Player
Huh, interesting. Thanks for finding some hard evidence about that. The quirks that I really dislike about Razer Surround are all driver related: (1) it always likes to set itself as the default device, and (2) switching between it and another sound device will sometimes cause stuff to get...- xviruz

GUIDE: Dolby Headphone in MPC & Zoom Player
Well, I can't seem to find any 7.1 content on my computer, so I can't help you there. However, if you haven't already, I do recommend giving Razer Surround a try. I know some people here have been ****ting on it, but personally I think it's alright. Plus it plays 5.1 FLAC content without...- xviruz

GUIDE: Dolby Headphone in MPC & Zoom Player
I'm just wary of codec pack installers in general, don't take it too personally :). That's interesting information. I'm using MPC-HC > ffdshow > Cyberlink Audio Decoder for Dolby Headphone only (the other codecs are not necessary, for me anyway). This works for all formats except...- xviruz

Quote: Really? An installer? Anyway, I pulled the claud.sim and DolbyHph.dll from your installer (done in a VM of course) and registered Claud.ax from a PDVD13 Ultra installer. The Dolby headphone option doesn't work at all. Should I be registering more of the files?- xviruz

GUIDE: Dolby Headphone in MPC & Zoom Player
After a bit of fiddling around I got the options to work, but MPC-HC won't use it as a filter. It might just be my setup though (I'm using Haali splitter + LAV filters). I've tried blocking LAV Audio and "Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder", but it defaults to the MPC audio decoder. To get...- xviruz

[Review] Brainwavz HM5, A New Neutral Champ
Quote: They isolate pretty well since they're closed headphones. It blocks out people having a conversation outside my room. Don't know about portable use (bus, train, etc.) though. 64 ohms, so very easy to drive. No problems running it directly out of my Clip+, laptop, desktop, etc.- xviruz

[Review] Brainwavz HM5, A New Neutral Champ

Source & sibilance?
Ah I see, thanks for the insight. I'm running them thru E5, which is doing nothing in terms of sibilance (at least it doesn't hiss). AMP3 is out of my price range, so I'll just go for a Clip+. It seems like that should resolve the issue.- xviruz

Source & sibilance?
The phone I'm using is the SE K850, and the files in question are all MP3 320kbps CBR. Yeah, one of the reasons I thought it might not be due to the RE2s was because quite a lot of reviews and users said that there was little sibilance, plus I find it strange that it would suddenly appear over...- xviruz

Source & sibilance?
Over the past few days I've just began noticing "sound stage" w/ my RE2 (it's been 100 hrs+ now). Right now I'm using my phone as source and the stage sounds tiny, but it's huge (in comparison) with my computer as source. The strange thing I've noticed is that the sibilance has greatly...- xviruz
