I appreciate everyone's responses to my original post. I have come to the conclusion the M11 Plus will be returned unopened to the reseller and I will pay the AU$459 difference for the M15S. I also prefer the M15S's curved design instead of sharp edges and its more powerful hardware. This way...

My M11 plus cost me AU$990 and that's on special - usually AU$1,060 and pondering if I should have gone the M15s for an additional AU$459 and hard to find which is newer and has more features and more powerful.

Hi all Firstly I was on this forum many years ago when I purchased my first ever FiiO E18 DAC which I then used with my iPod Touch when it had a 3.5mm headphone jack as it was well known the internal DAC's in these were pretty average at the time (Cirrus Logic). My headphones back then were the...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Hi all   Yes I'm still alive :)  Well I've been testing Sennheiser headphones for a while.  When I read about the IE800's coming out, I thought I better as if its possible to give them a spin.  My wish was granted.  They sent me a brand new pair of IE800's factory sealed for me to give a...

Review by 'FidelityFreak' on item 'Sennheiser IE80'

Hi all   I have been a Sennheiser fan sinced my first pair of Sennheiser IEM's - the IE7's.  I then later upgrade to the IE8's and these were even better.  Unfortunatley my IE8's suffered a hardware failure under warranty, so, I sent them back in their orginal packaging and was then informed...

Opinion on type of IEM Drivers - Armature vs. Dynamic?

Hi all   I wanted to add to this Armature vs Dynamic debate.  Luckily I have had the opportunity to test 3 of Sony's XBA Single Armature earphones for review purposes.  Now, bear in mind I now have a new pair of Sennheiser IE80's (warranty replacement for the IE8's I previously had).  I have...

Sennheiser IE80 Unboxing Photo and Initial Impression [Will update]

Hi all   Yes its Fidelity Freak, still alive and kicking.  Well, my Sennheiser IE8's were kicking along well till I decided to replace the silicon tips.  When I removed the left one, the whole sound shaft (the part with the mesh on top) detached from the body just by removing the silicon...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Hello all   Yes I am still alive and kicking, been a while since I have been here, but I wanted to update you all on my Sennheiser IE8's.  About a week ago, I decided to replaced the silicon earpieces with brand new Senneheiser official ones, I removed the silicon earpiece off the left hand...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Hi all Well im still alive and the Sennheiser IE8's are still screaming along and their audio has balanced out and performing perfectly. I have the bass setting on 2. Also, due to my persuasive words of wisdom I was able to get a pair of Jays q-Jays...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote: As for pricing, even Amazon.com in the US are charging US$ 399 plus delivery, and they wont ship to Australia where I live.  I then had no option but to get the best possible price from an Australian Senneheiser Reseller, so I paid AU$ 471, and these retail for AU$ 599.  I wasnt...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote: Hi Natasha, well been giving these IE8's a spin with the bass setting on the first notch only, and the sound on these is amazing even out of the box, and I'm listening to a variety of music including The Dark Knight soundtrack, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, etc.  Keep in mind I'v gone...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Hi all   Just a quick reply before I head off to work, my IE8's arrived so will give them a spin with my iPod with the same tips I used with the IE7's and the Bass level is set to the first notch out of the packet.

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote: Considering the IE8's sell for AU $599 RRP (including GST - 10%), thats about the best you will get with price and these are from a Genuine Sennheiser Reseller (I emailed Sennheiser to check the company beforehand).  There are cheaper options online, but with so make fakes floating...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote:   Hi Ian   The problem is I have heard conflicting stories, some sites say "burn-in" is merely just a theory and not required, while others say its recommended, yet for some odd reason Sennheiser themselves make no mention of this to get the best out of these high end IEM's -...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote:   I dont use any Equaliser settings on my iPod touch as I see no need for them as they artificially enhance the audio.  This then seems to negate the use of an Equaliser App, especially when people are saying the iPod touch amp is not the best.

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote:   Is it hard to convert my current MP3 library to FLAC supported iPod format?  I had a look at the Fiio, but will waiting till the E11 comes out and by this time I would have got some good use out of the IE8's.

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote: The IE7's when I first heard them blew me away straight out of the box - I was in shock - it was like having cans inside your ears - typical German style ;).  I have also heard it pays to have all MP3's encoded at 320kbps for the best audio reproduction (naturally the raw WAV...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Quote: I guess its easy to establish that this since this "burn in" procedure is to get the best out of these IEM's, then why is it Sennheiser dont suggest this in any documentation.  Naturally since this is not recommended in print, most people would just plug them in and listen away...

    Sennheiser IE8's

Hi all   Its been a while since I have been on here, but I can confirm my Sennheiser IE7's are still screaming along and sound amazing as usual.  I still look at them and think how and the hell do Sennheiser make these sound so amazing yet so full sounding and compact.  I also have a pair of...

    Sennheiser HD-555

Here's my verdict on the Sennheiser HD-555's - not suitable for iPod's.   Yesterday I purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD-555's as I was advised these are fine for the iPod touch, but oh how wrong that information was.  Firstly, I had to almost max out my iPod volume control, just hear decent...

    Sony MDR-V700DJ / Sennheiser

Hi All   Well my current Sennheiser IE7's are screaming along and sound awesome as always, but now I'm looking for a pair of cans, either Sony MDR-V700DJ (which I owned and sounded awesome) or Sennheiser equivalent.  My budge is around AU$ 300.  I know I'm going to get slammed for this, but...

Apple IEM - most underrated IEMs on the market

The problem with the Apple in-ear IEM's is their fit, even when are are inserted correctly, there is not a proper seal which leads to sound leakage, so therefore less of an audio experience. For their size they are amazing. I then jumped to Sennheiser IE7's and what a massive difference. Here in...

    Need Good earphones.

I would go for the IE7's as they are the second from the top end IE8's, and more economical but they still retain excellent audio quality, wtih bass, mid's lows and after their burn-in time which makes them better again. I bought them and cannot recommend them enough - they simply blow you away...
