Westone owners, Preferably of the 1, 2, or 3 (Tips ?)

I was in a similar situation, and I got some Shure Olives. Mediums fit pretty well. Very comfortable, good sound quality/isolation, and above all, much more durable than complys.

    Running IEMs suited for rock?

I'm not sure why people are suggesting a $3-400 IEM to replace a $100 IEM that he plans on sweating into... =/ RE0's seem like they'd work well for you. I personally just run in a throwaway pair of EP-630's, though. Either way, you'd best be served by something with good silicone...

    IEM's on a $200 budget

I've been using the UM2 for over a month and have been very satisfied with this. The bass presence is certainly there--I care more for the mid-bass (electric bass guitars and such) but I definitely like the lower bass. About as powerful as my Razer m100's (which I think are rebranded EP630's) in...

RE0 is a straight plug so I'm 90% sure it works fine.

IEM's for under $100 that will stay in my ears

If you're looking for comfort/fit, the Westone UM1's are extremely comfortable and have good sound quality. Same if you want to try the RE0's, or maybe even the Klipsch Custom 2's. Varies based on the sound signature you want.

I'll name my music interests and I'll tell you the IEMs I'm considering...what'll be match?

I haven't heard any of the above IEMs (although from what I hear the PFE would be a good fit) but I've been using Westone UM2's for my music purposes (including Metallica, Coheed and Cambria, System of a Down) and have been very satisfied with them. There was a used pair up for an absurdly low...

    Going from Complys to Olives

Alright, thanks. Might have to try the short ones some time, then. Maybe the triple-flanges too... :X Just ordered a pack of 5 pairs off of Earphonesolutions, then.

    Going from Complys to Olives

Hey, I'm using Complys with my recently acquired UM2's right now, and the normal (long) tips that come with it fit me fine. I want to switch to Olives to avoid durability issues with the complys, however. Does anyone with experience using both the complys and olives know which size of olives...

Is this site for real? Klipsch custom 3's for around $130

They're real, but Klipsch won't honor the warranty from Electronica-Direct.

Is this site for real? Klipsch custom 3's for around $130

Well, they were $130 on Amazon for a few weeks but it seems like they're back up to $300 now.

    um56 tips - user question

I'd imagine that you put them in whichever way makes the most sense in your ear. If it doesn't fit one way, twist it the other way and put it in.

    Best SQ IEM around $100

S4i sounds identical to the S4 afaik. Another option is the etymotic hf2 if you like the ety sound signature. They're ~$135 on Amazon.com

    Shure vs Ety's?

The lower-end shures are regarded poorly here. I don't have personal listening experience with either (er4p's yes, er6i's no) but if you deal with a slightly bass-light set of phones the er6i's will suit you fine. Alternatively you can grab the RE2's with a similarly neutral/cold sound signature...

    RE0 vs UM1

The UM1 has superior microphonics, isolation, and maybe durability. Their sound is more warm/fun-sounding than the RE0's, which are very cold/analytical. The RE0's benefit a lot with amping from all reports. It's a toss up IMO.

Recommend IEMs for "in your face" detail and good bass response?

You can grab the Custom 3's for ~$125USD off Amazon.com...not too sure exactly how that translates to CDN but it should be less. I've heard of microphonics/cable issues with the custom 3's though, so ymmv.

    Break-in for Klipsch Custom 3?

I doubt you can get "chest thumping bass" from IEM's since that sensation is from a woofer...that is, the sound waves are literally hitting your chest/gut. At least taht's my understanding.

Recommend IEMs for "in your face" detail and good bass response?

Look at the UM2's. They have a really full-bodied sound and fairly powerful bass.

Custom earphones for 80 bucks from school <- edit, just informed, sleeves only, nevermind

If you need to, you could possibly give them drivers from a higher-end IEM and have some really nice cheap customs.
