Let's say I recabled either an HD800 or a Grado PS1000 with XLR connectors and hooked it up to the second set of active outputs, would it work?

Just wondering. Considering ordering a pair from Music Direct along with some other things and thought I would get some input first. Second, how do they attach to the headphones? Do they plug right in? And third, how are the HD800's mating with the Zana Deux?

Because despite the fact the new one has a headphone output included, I still would rather use a seperate headphone amp. Also would like to not have any sound going to the speakers while using headphones. Thanks.
