Fulla (by) Schiit - News, photos, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Have you had any issues with static? At any volumes? I have to say that I was a bit surprised to hear it on my MDRv6 since it seems like the Fulla is designed for IEMs, which have much lower impedances than the MDRv6. I do have to say that if it weren't for the static, it would be a...- Happybottle

Thanks for chiming in! Based on what you wrote, I did some research and found a configuration that reduced the static (disabling Intel SpeedStep Technology in the firmware). Linking it here for any others using Ubuntu 14.04 experiencing this issue: ...- Happybottle

Fulla (by) Schiit - News, photos, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Hey everyone, I was hoping I could get some advice/opinion on something. The Fulla arrived yesterday afternoon. I've some mixed feelings :-/ Every now and then, I have to work remotely. I would have my work laptop (Lenovo T440s running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) with me and my Sony MDRv6. I...- Happybottle

Sub $100 DAC/amp Expectations
Hey everyone, I was hoping I could get some advice/opinion on something. Every now and then, I have to work remotely. I would have my laptop with me and my Sony MDRv6. I was looking for a portable DAC/amp that I could use to listen to music, (from my laptop) when this happens...- Happybottle

Schiit or Woo Audio for HD-650
Quote: That's a pricey journey :), but headphones have good resell value so I'm sure you recouped most of it. I'm hopeful that I'll be completely content with this new setup, but I know how that's gone in the past :)- Happybottle

Schiit or Woo Audio for HD-650
Quote: Thanks! I like the DacMagic looks, but I've never tried one. Ever since I first read about a WA6, years ago, I've wanted one. At the time, though, I wasn't clear at all about whether I needed a certain kind of DAC to connect to the WA6. I'm glad that I'm finally separating...- Happybottle

Schiit or Woo Audio for HD-650
Quote: I read that the Sophia was a must have, so I just included it in the cost of the purchase when I was making my decision. I would like to try another driver pair eventually, that is if my ears can detect the difference between the stock 6DE7 drivers and the spare 6DR7. And if I can...- Happybottle

Quote: Thanks! I'm looking forward to my impressions, as well! :) The WA6 should arrive on Tuesday but the Bifrost has been backordered for a couple of weeks. Apparently, they just started shipping out backorders on Friday, but I've yet to see my order move through. Here's hoping...- Happybottle

Schiit or Woo Audio for HD-650
Quote: Thx for the reply. I don't have any current plans to upgrade to orthos, but man, I never plan these costly purchases ahead of time :) I'd like to not limit myself if I can avoid it, but I'm starting to see that I can get something that will pair excellently with the...- Happybottle

Schiit or Woo Audio for HD-650
Hey guys, I am hoping you can help me spend my money :) I'm using a pair of HD-650 at home, connected to a Audio-GD Compass connected to my desktop. I've been using the Compass for a few years now and even if it wasn't presenting some hardware issues, which it is, I want to try a tube...- Happybottle

Grumble...Have any of you guys had any luck escalating issues with UPS? My re-fitted JH13s are 30 miles away but the UPS tracking website says it's going to take a week for them to arrive. LOL, UPS' tracking system is jacked up, I think. The site is claiming that the package left Kentucky at 5:37pm and arrived in California at 6:46. I guess that's possible if the first time, 5:37pm is EST and the second time, 6:46, is PST. That'd mean that the flight only took 4 hours. Either...- Happybottle

What? All of the sudden the estimated delivery date of my re-fitted JH13s changed from 11/25 to 11/30...That makes it 10 days to get from Florida to California! This had better change on Monday or I'm calling UPS, cause there's no freakin' snow in the Kentucky (it's present location) area...- Happybottle
