    Issue with crackling/white noise

FYI I am on Windows 10 Pro   Hey guys, I am trying to figure out the cause of this. I have a Soundblaster ZxR and a Magni amp, with DT770 250ohm model. I am plugging my headphone into the magni and the magni into a rca -> 3.5mm into the headphone jack of the ZxR. I can't use the RCA cables...

Schiit Magni + DT770 250 ohm (mainly for gaming)

Putting it at 100% shouldn't screw anything up on my soundcard, correct?  I have been reading around and a lot of people are saying to put it at 75%/80%.  I guess with me being a little cautious last night I probably got a false idea of what the amp + headphones can do.

Schiit Magni + DT770 250 ohm (mainly for gaming)

Thanks for the response.  Well I was hoping for an increase of quality as well as sound.  I guess I can switch between the two headphones based on how I'm feeling.  It's just that the 250 ohm version I have to turn the dial up pretty much all the way and have windows at 50%+ to make it "loud." ...

Schiit Magni + DT770 250 ohm (mainly for gaming)

Hello all, I just purchased a pair of DT770's 250 ohm, along with the Schiit Magni amp.  Let me say that I also have a pair of DT770 but the 80 ohm version, which I've been using for 4 years along with my X-fi Titanium HD.  I will admit that I am fairly unknowledgable when it comes to this...

Headphones for X-Fi Titanium HD (mostly gaming)

Hey guys... I am in the market for a new set of headphones.  I am using the X-Fi Titanium HD and I mostly play games.  I am looking at the Beyerdynamic DT770's.  I like the headphones to be closed so I can drown out all outside sound and get lost in my games.  I am seeing that there is a 250ohm...

    Headphones for pc gaming recommendations

So I currently own some Beyerdynamic DT770's and a pair of Denon AH-D2000's.  I am using an X-Fi Titanium HD as my soundcard and that is the extent of my "amp" power.  I doubt I'll change any of that since I am just using the headphones for gaming.   The DT770's are an older pair, and I got...

    amp + x-fi xtremegamer?

Okay, so it won't make the sound in the games sound better or anything? I was looking at a DT 770 and apparently you really need an amp for them. What if I put an Auzentech X-fi Forte into my system instead of the xtremegamer - would the amp built-in be decent enough to power those headphones...

    amp + x-fi xtremegamer?

Ya but since my headphones will be used for gaming ONLY will that be such a bad thing? I don't want to use a DAC if it prevents me from using my soundcard which was made for gaming, ya know?

    Xonar Essence STX: Sneak Peek!

If I get this to replace my x-fi xtremegamer am I going to lose all the 3d sound effects where I can simulate 5.1 and stuff through my headphones?

    amp + x-fi xtremegamer?

I am in Vista 64. Am I really losing much by using EAX or not in games? I was looking at the Asus Essence STX (Have a $200 gift card to amazon so it would be free) but since I am only really using my headphones for gaming it bothers me that I will lose out on EAX. I don't want to keep both...

Best place to buy DT 770 Pros?

I think I have pretty much settled on some Beyer DT 770 Pros (80 ohm). Apparently there are a newer and an older version of this and you can tell by some of the logos and stuff on the headphones themselves? How do I know I am getting the newest ones? I have $200 to Amazon and I see two or...

    amp + x-fi xtremegamer?

Well I am probably getting the DT 770's so I should have around $150 to spend on an amp. If I use this DAC do I lose all of my 3d effects and stuff from my soundcard? I really don't even know what it does or how I set it up in relation to my soundcard + amp + headphones. I just assumed I plug...

    amp + x-fi xtremegamer?

I am probably going to be getting a decent set of headphones pretty shortly and am looking at some that will most likely be better off with some sort of amp. I will only be using these headphones on my computer and I have an x-fi xtremegamer as my soundcard. If I buy an amp, is there...

New to amps - need help

Okay so I decided that the kind of headphone I want is something closed with decent bass but a lot of the models that have been suggested to me work much better with an amp. I am pretty much leaning toward the Beyer DT 770/880. I am going to be using these headphones only for PC gaming, and...

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

True.. but I think those are all open headphones, no? I like to get lost in my games (I play a lot of RPGs and stuff on my PC) so atmosphere is huge, and in games like Mass Effect bass will sound incredible and help me get into it more.

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

I read in a review that those Grados don't sound too hot without some sort of amp. I am obviously not an audiophile but I don't mind spending some money on the best headphones I can get that can be powered without an amp.

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

Your description above of "deeper," "punchier" bass sounds like it's what I want. So maybe a headphone between $200-$400 that has that while not minimalizing sound stage too much that can be powered just fine through the back of my x-fi xtremegamer... I think that helps narrow it down a bit. I...

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

I am trying to upgrade, and I do not mind spending a decent amount of money for a good set of headphones, up to $400 sounds about right. Good bass as in I can feel it and it will be good for explosions and the like. Some of the games I am playing right now on the PC are Mass Effect, KotoR, Dead...

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

I don't know, I just read that closed ones sometimes don't sound as good. I have Koss SB40's right now, and I assume they are open since I can hear around me but they don't have good bass and are on the cheaper-end (bought them just to try headphones out in general). I haven't heard much...

Good headphones, with good bass, that doesn't require an amp

I am looking for a pair of headphones that doesn't require an amp but still has pretty good bass. I read that the AD700s would be great for gaming but they don't really have much bass. I don't play games competitively and play a lot of RPGs and other types of games so I still want decent bass to...
