I ordered the mk ii Sbooster last week for my OG Brooklyn (haven't decided yet on whether I'll replace it with the DAC+ or Bridge). I also have an Eitr, but (so far) still prefer my µR+LPS-1 feeding the Brooklyn from Roon+HQPlayer at DxD/DSD. Roon is doing the first MQA unfold because it can...- Topmounter

Mytek Brooklyn Thread
As an OG Brooklyn owner, I'm definitely looking forward to hearing any impressions of the Brooklyn Bridge. I personally haven't heard any difference between XLR and SE connections, but I'm only running 1M interconnects. I do like the solid click-lock connection made by XLR connectors versus...- Topmounter

That seems to be an issue to varying degrees with any phone / case combo. I haven't taken my Spigen Tough Armor case off in quite some time, but I'm not seeing any noticeable build up around the edges.- Topmounter

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova
I recently purchased a set of Andromedas on the 'for sale' forum for use w/ my LG V40. These are definitely a big step up from my SE535s. The bass seems about right and the soundstage is amazing with quite a bit of detail . With the Andromedas in my ears, it makes it seem like everything in...- Topmounter

LG V40 ThinQ
I'm using UAPP and like it quite a bit. UI is better than Neutron. I also use the Tidal App (I'm not sure when this happened, but their UI has improved significantly). I wasn't able to 'trick' the v40 into high-impedance mode (only AUX mode), but check the link below, this 80Ω plug does the...- Topmounter

LG V40 ThinQ
My HE4xx's definitely don't trigger high-gain mode on my V40. I did buy an 80 OHM adapter off Amazon and it definitely triggers high-gain mode. In high-gain mode the V40 is able to get the HE4xx's to what I would consider the higher end of satisfying listening levels.- Topmounter

LG V40 ThinQ
My HE4XX cans have yet to trigger the 50Ω high-impedance mode. I think the SE535s triggering it was a fluke, I'm guessing I didn't insert the plug quickly or smoothly enough. Regardless, it would be nice if there was at least an API so the high / low setting could be accessed by 'advanced'...- Topmounter

LG V40 ThinQ
Plugged in my SE535s this morning and for some reason my v40 went into high gain mode :hear_no_evil:... without lowering the volume. LG definitely needs to add a switch to set the amp to 'auto', 'low' or 'high' gain.- Topmounter

Awesome... thanks! edit... that app is very helpful. I can plug a cable in to the phone w/ nothing attached and it goes to 'Auxiliary' mode, but not 50Ω+ high-gain mode. I've ordered a 1/4" adapter for my HD650s and an 80Ω in-line adapter that should trigger the high-gain mode. Aux mode does...- Topmounter

And I'm not sure how to tell one way or the other exactly since I don't seem to have a 1/8" male to 1/4" female adapter for my HD650s, but my HE4xx headphones don't seem to kick the v40 into high gain mode.- Topmounter

I made the switch over to the v40 last night. This is a better phone than I expected. Replacing the default LG keyboard w/ Gboard was key. The audio quality is great through my SE535s. Now to buy a pair of Campfire Andromedas!- Topmounter

Does Campfire normally do Black Friday deals? I'm going to buy a pair of CA IEM's, but can't make up my mind and I'm thinking that a Black Friday Deal might help me decide :dart:- Topmounter

Much appreciated! The Andromedas will already be a pretty significant stretch for me, especially considering I have no experience with CA IEMs to date. The most expensive IEMs that I've purchased to date are my SE535s, but part of the reason I bought the v40 is for a big step up (without...- Topmounter

How is the v40 / Andromeda pairing doing for you? I have a v40 on the way and have been looking at Campfire IEMs as an upgrade from my current SE535s. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of available models, but the Andromedas are high on the list.- Topmounter

QUAD ERA-1 Thread
The lack of transparency is concerning. I don't have a problem buying a JDM watch from Massdrop where Massdrop provides the warranty. 25 now :) I guess Massdrop has to make hay when they can, but I was close to pulling the trigger on the Elex drop before I saw the Quads (which I didn't expect so soon after release and positive hype from RMAF). Shure IEM Rewire Shop
I have a couple pairs of older Shure SCL3 IEMs (recently rediscovered after getting inadvertently packed in a box a few years ago). I'm wondering if there is anyone (preferably in the US) doing quality rewires of IEMs such as these. I enjoy the sound of these quite a bit, but I'm not crazy...- Topmounter
