    Chord Mojo issue solutions thread.

Not a PiTA since the Mojo remembers the voltage setting, as Dana kindly pointed out.

    Chord Mojo issue solutions thread.

Thanks - Yes, I just stumbled upon a discussion on another site, where they recommended adjusting the Mojo volume (beginning at 0 then 68 steps up should approximate 1.9V). Wish I had known about this issue prior to purchase. I've seen no mention of this phenomenon on any of the product...

    Chord Mojo issue solutions thread.

Has anyone experienced issues with Chord Mojo using line level mode? Upon first use (today), I've set to line level mode and am getting terrible distortion when connected to line level inputs of my Outlaw RR2160 receiver. I can reduce the Mojo volume to eliminate the distortion, but shouldn't...

Advice..Please!!: Best Connection for iMac (coax or optical) for split 30' & 15' runs?

I'm wondering if this device would fit the bill: http://www.amazon.com/Midiman-M-Audio-Coaxial-Bi-Directional-Converter/d... It would enable me to use a short mini-to-standard toslink cable from my iMac & (since it can simultaneously output to both coax & optical) I could then use a toslink...

Advice..Please!!: Best Connection for iMac (coax or optical) for split 30' & 15' runs?

Note: The following is copied from a thread I posted in the Computer Audio forum (which received no responses).  I'd really appreciate some advice on this- Thanks!!:   Thinking of doing a wired connection from an older Intel iMac to transfer 24/96 recordings to my receiver.  After giving...

    Toslink Booster/Amplifier/Repeater (SQ OK?)

Anyone have experience using a toslink signal booster & if so, how did it affect the quality of the original signal (good or bad)?  I'm thinking of doing a long toslink run from an iMac (with the signal split so that I can route the signal to 2 different rooms), and was curious whether I could...

Best Connection for iMac (coax or optical for 2x split 30' runs)?

Seems I may need a toslink signal repeater/amplifier to boost the signal because a passive splitter won't cut it for dual 30' runs of toslink cable (FWIR).  Something like this maybe?: http://www.markertek.com/Routers-Switchers-DA%27s/Video-Distribution/TLDA-1.xhtml?TLDA-1   Also, the kind...

Best Connection for iMac (coax or optical for 2x split 30' runs)?

Thinking of doing a wired connection from an older Intel iMac to transfer 24/96 recordings to my receiver.  After giving some thought & doing some research, it seems that going with a 30' wired connection (while not elegant) would be the cheapest route to getting bit perfect 24/96 from my iMac's...

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Lots of love for the Rythmik subs over at the Planar Asylum (and elsewhere) for matching to planar speakers.  Seems this is my best (if not cheapest) bet.  I'm intrigued by the possibility of setting up a 2- subwoofer system.  When you do this, do you hook up to the receiver's subwoofer "pre-amp...

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Cool- can you guys recommend any good candidates for used 10" subs which are not too difficult to find?   I was eyeing the Epik Legend Sub (which is a dual 12" design- $499): http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/legend.html However, it seems that what I need is a smaller version of this design...

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Mulling over Pete's and Happy Camper's recommendation of adding a subwoofer first.  I've noticed that there are a few subwoofer kits over at Parts Express.  Does anyone have experience with any of this sealed sub kits?  something like this...

    HELP!!

I recently bought some used Ultrasone Pro 900's & can confirm that these have outstanding bass.  They also come with a nice carrying case (which may or may not matter to you).   Are you going to use a headphone amp?  Judging from your "I want them to look good" comment, I'm guessing you'll...

What do I need to buy to have an audiophile setup?????

Endless possibilities...Some ideas:   Marantz CD 5001- ~$200 used (good value CD player with nice analog output) Schiit Lyr- $449 (as much power as anyone needs) or opt for the Schiit Asgard for $249 (still very nice)   After shipping costs are added in, that should leave around $300...

    decent headphones for classic rock?

I second the Grado recommendations- especially since you won't need an amp.  You could find some used 325i's for around $200-$225.  I used to have these HPs & they do rock and acoustic music very well.  They're also good at presenting the details in well recorded music.

Need a good first time dac in the $100 price range.

What about an Audio-gd Sparrow?:   http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/Headphoneamp/Sparrow/SparrowEN.htm   The basic version only costs $140 (excluding shipping) & it also has a HP amp.

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Thanks for the advice.   I may have been unclear, but I'm actually amping the MMGs with a 150 wpc Adcom GFA-545 II (the HK receiver only serves pre-amp duty).  Otherwise, I'll have to give serious consideration to adding a sub soon.  I have been somewhat intimidated by the prospect of...

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Oh, Erik, you devil you!   Funny, since lately I've given some serious thought to going the full analog route & the Rega P3 was at the top of my list for a starter TT.  However, at least for now, I've decided to stick with digital due to the convenience factor (and because I have small...

    Best DAC for Vinyl?

What about this GT40: http://www.furutech.com/download/ADL%20GT40_News.pdf   review here: http://www.whathifi.com/review/furutech-adl-gt40   I saw info on this a few months back (from CES) & it caught my eye since a buddy of mine was looking to do some vinyl-digital conversion.  I think...

Upgraditis Aggh!!- Suggest an upgrade for my Magnepan MMG based system

Thanks for the advice & comments.  As for where my future plans lie...well, I suppose that I'd like to eventually upgrade to a true "Hi-Fi" class speaker setup (in my mind requiring at least $5K-$10K in total investment), but that will be a while- more than 5 years & probably more than 10 years...
