Do you travel with your Full size high impedance headphones?
I used to carry around my Hd-600s for really long flights (US to Asia). It can be something of a pain to make sure everything is stowed safely, but there's nothing like magical music for a super long trip.- echiang06

Best Buy Headphone help...
Definitely agree with the sell your gift card movement! My friends always call me to ask what kind of headphones they should get if they have a (insert random big box retailer) gift card, and I've always replied, sell the gift card, and you can get better headphones + a few nice meals. You...- echiang06

Best for Hip-hop/ RnB
IE8 is pretty awesome for the well-produced tracks, but mixtapes and some of that stuff suffers because of lack of high production values. For R and B, you might want to go with SE530s as I've heard that they're mid-highs are unmatched, and mid-high is where those RandB crooners (usher, r kelly...- echiang06

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
I can answer the Atrio vs IE8 comparison: Not much of one. My evidence? I've had to convince myself to even to listen to the a5s, and am currently in the process of selling them. The IE8s in my opinion have a bass that you can actually listen to. The a5s have a bass that you can feel. The...- echiang06

Anyone still into MDs?
I used to use MD, I now use only portable music players. However, I really miss the MD. It was really enjoyable experience to pop in the "Jazz" disc, or the "Rap" disc...- echiang06

Backpack-Fi
KATA A44V Sensitivity V Backpack It's really cool, is really small, and yet fits a lot, and I get complemented on it at least once a week (it's already been 2 years, too!). The two pockets into one function is amazingly...functional? Here's a link to see what it looks like: KATA...- echiang06

durability of er6i? upgrade from ex71?
The durability is decent, just not great. I've had quite a few pairs, they lasted more than 1.5 years with very heavy usage (going to sleep, weightlifting, basketball, jogging). They do tend to not last much longer than that, but I've had a great experience with etymotics research (they replaced...- echiang06

Creative X-Fi sound quality?
Anybody have one of the Creative X-Fi players? I was wondering how they sound in comparison specifically to Zune gen 1. Thanks a lot headfi!- echiang06

IEM's with THE MOST bass response
The atrio m5s are RIDICULOUSLY awesome with bass in comparison to the Shures, Cx-300, and ER. They give you head-rattling feeling of a concert, or the floor-shaking feeling of a club.- echiang06

High quality mini to mini cable necessary?
I've actually found that higher end (just better than ratchack) is somewhat worth it based on build quality. Those little cheap gray ones die by the dozens for portable use, so in the end, it would have been wiser (at least for me) to have gotten a better one to begin with.- echiang06

Etymotic ER-4ps still respected?
I pair my er4s with a xin supermacro. It's great, because it has an impedance switch and a bass boost one, too.- echiang06

IEM's that are smaller than Shure e2c
the shures are about twice the size of the er-6i's. I couldn't get the superfis to stay in my ear(they were too big, or funky shaped), so that may not be your best choice either.- echiang06

Best IEMs ~$75 for a range of music?
I'd suggest the er-6, too. They're pretty balanced as far as the bass goes. The best way to describe it is that it's there, you don't have to strain to hear it, but you won't get a real BOOM either. I've owned 3 pairs of er-6 and given 2 as gifts and I've never had or heard of the er6s getting...- echiang06

Klipsch X10 vs. Etymotics ER-4 vs. Shure SE530
Hey headfi, I need your opinions on these headphones. I may have lost my pair of er-4p while mailing it to ER for repairs. I've been using a pair of Shure I2C-m meanwhile to get by. I loved the accuracy of the Er-4's and I have a Xin SuperMacro 3 that pairs with it excellently. But...- echiang06

Classical and IEMs
I'll second the er-4ps, but when listening to large orchestral works (i.e., Mozart's Requiem) I prefer the er-4s. The large orchestral pieces will always be better (or more natural sounding) with circumaural because they're written to be played in huge concert halls. The iems are maybe better or...- echiang06

Are the Ety Er-4P's what I'm looking for?
I think that the er-4ps are what you're looking for. They're the only headphones that have ever made me enjoy a genre. If you ever hear Ella Fitzgerald with the er-4ps you'll fall in love wit jazz. They are also dangerously isolating My freshman year I was at the school cafeteria and the fire...- echiang06

HD600/ER-4S/P vs. Shure 5?0
I have noticed that ever since my commute started increasing, that I've been using my er-4's about 95% and almost no longer using my HD600s anymore (they're waaaaay too warm to wear in Arizona for 8 months out of the year). I'm thinking that I could probably sell the HD600s without missing it...- echiang06

Question to Zune Users: What Headphones Are You Using?
I use the ety er-4p's. The stock ones aren't bad, though. Amping helps a lot out of the dock, but out of the headphone jack, I haven't really bothered.- echiang06

Romantic Period: Violin
As far as darker and more emotional music, I think that the Bach Sonatas and Partitas contain great power, awe, and reverence; although in the modern sense of emo, it might not cut it. -
