2011 MacBook Pro
I heard the pre-unibody ones got REALLY hot, and the unibody ones aren't as bad. Anyways, it sounds like you're less concerned with surface temperature and more concerned with the internals getting overheated, especially during prolonged, CPU/Memory-heavy tasks. I use this free app called...- Shay

PC to Mac: My Not-So-Genius Switch
:O I've tried both and I prefer the glossy... they both suck in direct sunlight, and counter-intuitively I still prefer the glossy (with brightness turned up) because the matte's lack of contrast worsens with heavy light, IMHO. My $0.02- Shay
