High tech carrying case solution for Grado phones
After owning Grado cans for quite sometime, I've tried many different carrying case options including infamous pizza box, plastic organizer from Office Depot and so on. Finally, I got one possible approach (I call it high tech approach) using Zero Halliburton Elite 4" brief case. The...- go_vtec

Holy Orpheus!!!
I just received a pair of baby Orpheus and I have been listening it for past couple of days. Although it resembles HD-650 physically (actually it should be other way around ), it sounds nothing like I originally expected. It breathes the sound to my ears instead of forcing it like dynamic...- go_vtec

Need suggestion for the tube amp
OK, I just sold my ASL OTL 32 to a fellow headfier so I can upgrade my 2ndary amp system. I'm sort of torn between RKV MKII w/ Impedanzer and Single Power PPX3/MPX3. Overall, I liked how OTL 32 sounded with high impedance cans (Sennheiser HD6x0), but I want improved sound. Ability to use lower...- go_vtec

Question on Ety ER4p+adaptor vs. ER4s w/ amps
I'm curious if using adaptor cable on Ety ER4p makes it exactly same as ER4s? I mean would sounds from both setups idential assuming a descent amp is used? I went through most of threads, but couldn't find a definite answer. FYI, I recently bought and tried Shure E3c mainly out of curiousity...- go_vtec

Review: Antique Sound Lab MG Head OTL32 vs. Singlepower PPX3 vs. Singlepower Supra
Background: Although I have been reading head-fi forums since 2002, I only started to post to this site several months ago. I guess this is my first ever review. I have been thinking for quite sometime how should I write this review up so that it would be most beneficial to head-fi community...- go_vtec

Using Japanese 100V-50Hz CDP in USA (110V-60Hz).
Currently I have an opportunity to buy a rare Japanese domestic market Sony CD player for a reasonable price. Only problem is that the power requirement of Japanese CDP is different from USA: 100V - 50Hz vs. 110V - 60Hz. Will I need some sort of power converter or will I be able to get away...- go_vtec

Good solution to cord/cable management?
Now that the search is down for another day or two, can someone suggest me a good way to keep the headphone cords/cables neat and organized? I've used quick-ties and plastic tubes for RCAs/power cables for permanent solution, but for my headphone cables are bit tricky. I use my headphones...- go_vtec

Buying CDs from Hong Kong?
On Ebay, I saw lots of special edition CDs selling out of USA for dirt cheap price like 0.99 to 9.99, but shipping was a bit high (6-8 bucks). For example, some Norah Jones' CDs were containing both 1st and 2nd album plus few live tracks. Not to mention Sarah Mclachlan CD has multiple CDs in a...
