For 6AS7G tube rollers here .....
At least wine gets better with age.. your ears are only going to worse! Looking at the box it actually says right on it, "Manufactured by Canadian Radio Manufacturing Corporation Limited..." which appears to be Rogers itself. ...- Zwyguy

It does have very little material deposit on top from the getter, or chrome as you say; about a nickel sized amount. I got the Rogers 6AS7G for $15... Some of those Russian tubes can be found quite cheap. Are they worth looking into? I've heard mixed opinions. I don't have the luxury...- Zwyguy

For 6AS7G tube rollers here .....
There is no hum; it did sound very clean and brighter / more definition in the high frequencies than the tube I had on before but not as much clarity in the mid range as I was hoping for... I only had a little while with it before I had to go to work so I haven't listened to it enough yet. I...- Zwyguy

It has what looks like a D-getter with a very small amount of material deposit on top.- Zwyguy

On a whim I bought a NOS 6AS7G from Rogers, black plates, top getter. Is it likely made by RCA? It looks very similar.- Zwyguy

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
I've definitely got at least 25 hours on them now and I get the feeling that they have mellowed. I also bought some MEElec tips and first tried the bi-flanges, as recommended, but I think I prefer the larger tri-flanges. I find them more comfortable. I think they sound better too but that...- Zwyguy

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
So, I bought a pair from the Chinese sellers on eBay... I was really curious for $50 shipped. Most of the time I find them very punchy, fun and up-front but they can also be a little too shrill or piercing with some tracks. I am actually enjoying them. They sound as described but I wish...- Zwyguy

Speaker suggestions please (<$400).
I spent about $485 on my 2.0 setup. $150 ObjectiveDAC, $200 (+tax) Audioengine N22 desktop amp, and $110 on a pair of PSB Alpha from the mid 90's. I also added a HSU Research STF-2 subwoofer and altogether I think it sounds amazing. My recommendation would be to look at the...- Zwyguy

Phantom Premium RCA Cables
Has anyone heard of these or had experience with them? I'm having trinding finding anything about these cables and their quality or performance. I was going to order from Blue Jeans Cable but they are slightly more expensive and have to cross the border; Phantom Cables appears to be...- Zwyguy

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?
Quote: Thanks for the links, man! I used Affordable Home Electronics with shipping to Canada. I couldn't get GovGroup to ship internationally (I think you have to be military personnel). I paid $41 with shipping... I hope that's a good price; I haven't seen any on this side of the...- Zwyguy

Quote: Since this mod really is intended for MS1s and, if you're that worried about looks, you could swap the casing. It would just require some elbow grease.- Zwyguy
