@iFi audio Just curious but does a iSilencer do anything if a iDefender is connected to a DAC with it's own power power so both ground, and power are cut?

Just curious but how accurate is the sennheiser frequency response certificate, according to mine the 6khz treble spike is only around 3.5-4db.

Does anyone know how/if much better the sound is via hdmi i2s on the Topping D90 VS USB connected to a clean USB network source? I'm debating about maybe picking up a SU-6 to connect to a network streamer just for that i2s connection but unsure if it would actually be better.

The USB of the D90 also sounds very good with allo shanti/allo signature usbridge with BT disabled, and in DAC mode, dunno how it would compare to I²S tough.

I hear differences in room decay/reverb with the different filters available in HQplayer but the built-in filters in the AKM chip sounds more alike than truly different, this is with a HD800 setup.

This dac does sound really good not the best clocking, implementation or analog stage implementation of AKM but coupled with using Filter 5 super.slow.roilloff, and HQplayer 768khz PCM upsampling with the new SINC-L filter really brings the SQ up a notch from the built-in filters.

The sennheiser frequency certificate that they give out is too smoothed out/low Res though.

I believe there are convolver plugins for foobar2000, then you could use something like Room EQ Wizard(free), or accurate(payware) and just create a 352/384khz 32 bit mono WAV impulse file.

@JaZZ is there any reason you don't use a parametric equaliser though, I think you could make a much more accurate equalisation that way.

@JaZZ just curious but does your velvet mod alter any other frequencies than mostly 6khz, I'm wondering if a ADC , and measuring mic with some pink noise will be enough, or is a dummy head also needed to find the FR response? On another note does it matter what type of velvet is used, I see...

Yeah I can probably do it with a normal graphical equaliser too, as I make the convolution files in REW, I believe it should have that functionality. I believe my HD800 is around 4xxxx serial

Hmm I see, what cutout do you use for the mod, would for example the anax cutout be compatible with your velvet mod, and I'm still unsure which thickness to use, by triple layer velvet do you mean 3 layers stacked on top of each other? And on another note what PEQ do you recommend with the...
