Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I don't think that the veil is a legend. These headphones just require decent amplification to shine. In my case, the "veil" is reproducible with some of my other amps or straight from a source.- vo328

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I have had several amps in the past with my range of headphones. I've really enjoyed the iFi Audio iDSD Black Label. It drives my 650's and the rest of my headphones very nicely. The texture, authority and range quality has been amazing. I always felt the veil, and it has now been lifted. It is...- vo328

Thunderpants! A world-class closed planar magnetic headphone by Head-Fi'er "Smeggy" - Head-Fi TV, Episode 012
Quote: Smeggy, that's is completely honest and totally refreshing. Your candor is appreciated as is the final product. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my hands on a set, as they sound amazing without ever having touched my ears, but life is that little thing that's currently in the way. :)...- vo328

InEarZ (Fisher Hearing) Custom Remold Owner's Thread
Folks, it's been 1 year and 3 months since I had my SE530's reshelled by the fine folks at Fisher... and I'm pleased to say that all is still well. The sound is still as amazing as it was after my refit (had to get the shells cut down a bit from Fisher) and they have held up well over time...- vo328

Sony MDR-V6 Opinions
The V6 is a nice headphone, with what I consider a bit of a boring sound to it... almost sterile. Nevertheless, I have owned one since 1989 and still use it on occasion. It was my first "real" set of cans and the same for my son. I think they're a great place to start... but definitely not the...- vo328

Are recievers good enough to use an a headphone amplifer?
I have found that most vintage Sansui and Marantz models I've heard tend to sound a bit too warm for my taste.- vo328

BY REQUEST: Best sounding HP jacks on integrateds/receivers.
My Denon AVR-4810ci tends to sound amazing with my Beyer DT770-250, but not so great with my Senn HD650. The bass is lean, but the soundstage is amazing on both cans. The Beyers sound better simply due to their U-shaped sound signature, but the Senns clearly are not happy with this setup, much...- vo328

New iPod Family!
I love the form factor of the new Nano, but like others, am miffed by the omission of video... taking away a key feature from the Nano line-up. I was also somewhat disappointed to not see a higher capacity iPod out. :( But, yes, loved the AppleTV enough to order right away!- vo328

My new Woo Audio WA5-LE "The Black Beauty"
Wow... congrats on a great choice! I know when time comes for my next desktop amp, the first place I'll look is in the Woo Audio stable. I've had the chance to speak with Jack a couple of times in person and spent hours listening to his products. I find them to hit the sweet spot for me when it...- vo328

InEarZ (Fisher Hearing) Custom Remold Owner's Thread
I'm finally in a position to comment on these custom remolds. Back in February, I had sent my SE530s to Fisher Hearing and chose my artwork. Kim at Fisher Hearing actually did my molds in-house (rather than me finding an audiologist outside) and a couple of weeks later I went to pick them up. My...- vo328

Need a recommendation for an affordable amp for my son
Welchie, the iBasso T3 might be something to consider. The size is a nice match for the Nano and I find it to be an incredible value.- vo328

HeadRoom Portable Micro impressions [UPDATED WITH PICS]
I'm a huge Micro fan. I use the Micro stack and love the versatility of it with any can I throw at it. I've got the 2006 Desktop module in my Micro amp and I'm curious how the newer ones sound in comparison.- vo328
