It's got to stop!
So the OP is basically saying there is an opportunity to snatch this market by the balls by making a a better performing/value headphone. So do it already! Blow them all up like Steve Jobs.- Uchiya

Breaking News: HE1000 V2
Would like to purchase but been reamed in the arse too many times by QC from hifiman, items breaking right past warranty; re-272 (2x) - terrible cables, re-600 (2x) - bad cables, he-500 driver mismatch, he-6 the connector for left side is too small so it doesn't screw in securely, been gradually...- Uchiya

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Goodbye desktop stack. (Gungnir1>MJ1>HE6) Goodbye portable brick. (Dacport>Quickstep>RE600) QC35's have "just" enough audio quality (about 50% of my desktop stuff) that I can give up being stationary with the above. Maybe when I'm not on the move so much I'll go back. *Also moving to speakers*- Uchiya

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
It's a fine combo. I'm running an HE-6 with MJ1. Nothing thin about the bass with the Mjolnir, hits damn hard with tracks that call for it; surprised how much thump some of Selena Gomez's songs have =) It is a smidge "shouty" sometimes, not often; typically experienced with vocals, especially...- Uchiya

Schiit Gungnir DAC
Even something like the Bose Mini Soundlink speaker can benefit from the lineout of this wonderful dac. The soundlink serves conveniently as a speaker bar for my pc monitors and it's satisfying.- Uchiya

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
Anyone here connect external subs to the preouts on the amp? I have a pair of subs I'd like to connect simultaneously while playing my he6 to reinforce some chest thumping while watching movies.- Uchiya

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Hmmm, badluck from Hifiman lately. Got my warranty replacement for the HE-6 but I'm experiencing the loose connector issue on the left side, and also the left headphone goes out from time to time. All right after the warranty period. The bliss just doesn't last in the this hobby!- Uchiya

HiFiMAN RE-600 Review
Yeap, Double Black Tips that insert deeper, an HE-500 sound. The clear, double bullets in the portable case gives much, much more space, a 2-3 rows farther back, colder sound but that space and holography.- Uchiya

HiFiMAN RE-600 Review
I was running a dacport lx into a quickstep amp and wanted to try the Gungnir with the quickstep. A good and noticeable improvement. They do scale up; clearl, defining, holographic sound. Smooth, smooth, smooth with an even harder bass hits.- Uchiya

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Don't get the PB-2. The battery is crap. It'll wear out before the warranty and you'll likely need a replacement. I've owned 3 and it's happened to all of them. On my second the power supply went out and had to pay for a replacement too. The sound quality from the PB-2 is also no where near...- Uchiya

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Adjustment period after listening to LCD-3's and switching to the Re-600's is about 30-40min for me. Theyn sound like crap before then. But then it all comes back and everything's delicious again. Thing is, RE-600's sound more coherent in presentation so switching back to LCD-3's, there's an...- Uchiya

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
I definetly prefer the HE-6 for sound quality, it just sounds better in all technical aspects we grade headphones by. But the things the audeze has is build quality, and comfort; especially during my 4hr+ listening sessions. My HE6 fell apart right after the warranty expired. I'm never buying...- Uchiya

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
Just arrived. On the plus, I'm very happy coming from an HE-6. LCD-3 has plenty of treble for me. On the negative, I had to pay an extra grand for soundstaging, space and transparency the LCD-2 never had. I hope these last 20 years (not realistic) but one can always wish.- Uchiya
