It should work fine for your headphones.

The magni is my first real headphone amp and I have to say, so far I love it! I've dabbled before in DACs but never an amp and boy what a difference it makes.

This fixed my problem. Plugged the wall wart directly to my electrical outlet as opposed to using a power strip.

Currently using the modi as well so not using laptop soundcard

I have it connected to my MacBook Pro. It may be my cabling so I will have to double check them.
