I love working for...
There's an old rock song I'm struggling to remember. I believe it has the lyric in it "I love working for..." and then like a 3 letter acronym music label. It's NOT Lynyrd Skynyrd "Workin' For MCA". It just escapes me at the moment and maybe someone knows...- theCanadian

Considering new DURABLE headphones.
It certainly doesn't. I've moved on from audio to motorsports. Needing something cheap. I'll get some Beyers when I'm an old fart with money.- theCanadian

Considering new DURABLE headphones.
I have a pair of JVC RX700's I've owned for 4 years that I sleep in every night. Aside from some pad wear, they're in like new condition. This is the kind of durability I'm looking for. Wondering if I should step up to the RX900, just replace the RX700 pads, or go with another option. The...- theCanadian

Need a new Amp/receiver, looking for suggestions
I was looking for something in the $100 range. Something used. ~ 50W/ch with several inputs. The SX-6 is a pretty solid unit actually. You can get 'em for as cheap as $50 if you look hard. I'm just wondering if there was something better.- theCanadian

Need a new Amp/receiver, looking for suggestions
Hi guys. I never got big into dedicated source stuff so I'm hoping you can help me out. My dad built these speakers in college ('73) and by the time I got my hands on them, the drivers needed to be replaced. Having done that I decided to power them with the same receiver he used, the Pioneer...- theCanadian

Pioneer SX-6 Stereo stopped working
On advice from another, I thought I'd try my luck here. So I powered up my stereo up the other day, I heard a pop from the speakers and then nothing. No sound. The tuner and buttons still works. No output from headphone jack either. The fuse appears fine. Before this problem, sometimes I...- theCanadian

Pioneer SX-6 Stereo stopped working
When I turned on my SX-6 the other day, my speakers popped and then I couldn't get any sound. The tuner and other buttons still work. Is there anyway to know went wrong and is it possible to fix?- theCanadian

Song that sounds like this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24Oge_5kHKk The girl singing in this video does the "You need me man I dont need you" chorus with the exact same cadence and tone as in another song. Pretty sure the song I'm thinking of is a bit more classy than this one, and I ask here because it may even be...- theCanadian

Are Koss Classic Pro-4AA still worthwhile
Thanks these do look pretty sexy. Glad to hear that they're still worth the coin. I don't normally like to EQ the equipment I use, but I may make an exception if I get these. Thanks again for restoring confidence!- theCanadian

Explorations in Space and Time
Huge let down. I actually thought the quality was terrible. The levels are inconsistent, and on many tracks so low as to be non-existent.- theCanadian

Ipod Nano DAC/sound quality by generation
I just pulled my 2nd Gen back out. My opinion of the DAC is not a pleasant one. It sounds... forced. Even when I run my Asus D1 through my 80's Pioneer SX-6 receiver, it sounds a lot more relaxed, despite the audible 50hz buzz. Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was compelled to reply.- theCanadian

Porting Math Help
So, I'm recycling an enclosure, and I was thinking of putting the Dayton Ref. 12's in there. Specifically, RSS315HF-4. But! I've never done this before, so I don't know what's what. Given: Vb=1 cu ft Vas=85.1 Qes=.58 Qms=3.12 Fs=25 Qts=.489 Calculated: ...- theCanadian

AudioTechnica PEQ3 vs Esoteric Sounds Rek-O-Kut MKII vs TCC TC-750LC
So, the PEQ3 is giving me a it of trouble in that it's output is below line level at only 150mV. I'm looking at a replacement, and the TCC TC-750LC and the Esoteric Sounds Rek-O-Kut MKII both look like good choices with twice the output voltage and a slightly better signal/noise. ...- theCanadian

Intro To Vinyl, how's this stuff look?
I'd grab it. I just hooked up my Pioneer PL-7 that my dad gave me for free. It looks to be from the same time period. It cost me $100 to replace the cart and find a decent preamp. And it sounds awesome over my relatively quaint system. Totally worth it.- theCanadian
