I've had the MDR-10RBT for about a year and recently got the MDR-ZX770BN (N is costco version that comes with the shell case).   I was surprised that IMHO the 770s sound better than the 10RBT even with the noise canceling on.   They are slightly warmer with way more bass.    With the NC off...

I'm a big fan of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50's.   I use them at my office and my house and they sound great with virtually no sound leakage.  You'll also find that a lot of people on here like the, use them and recommend them.

Now that I'm off my /rant horse about the beats...   I did try the Phaitons at BB sometime back.  Although I didn't do any A/B testing since they didn't have the M50's there I will say that IMHO the MS400's didn't have as much bass as the M50's *however* that can be fixed with a decent...

Skullcandy's problems run deeper than quality control.  Looking at their own forums it looks like they have abandoned ship in terms of support and RMA's.

MSRP is $179 USD but they are going for $149 most everywhere.

Just went through 2 pairs of Aviators.  The sound quality is ok, they are definitely light on bass.   The build quality however is terrible.  When 2 pairs of headphones fail within a week, no amount of dollars can justify their purchase.
