Are the HD800/s still the kings of comfort?
When was the HD800 the comfort king? Must have missed it. They are pretty inferior to the HD555/598 and the Sony MA900. The HD800 higher weight and too big pads that tend to put pressure on a spot on the jaw under the ear.- Sweden

Isone Pro - the best thing you could ever get for your headphones on your computer
What headphones are you using? I find the HD800 to be the optimal headphone for Isone when calibrated. You lose a bit of fidelity, but this headphone has fidelity in spades to it's a good trade (at times). Isone is however just a poor man's Smyth Realiser when it comes to a realistic out of...- Sweden

Popular Classical Music
As close to a spiritual experience I as non religious person can achieve when listening to classical. Largo from Xerxes by Händel. Beethovens 5th piano concerto 2nd movement. Pure transcendence. -
Best classical recordings...ever!
This version of Largo from Xerxes arranged by José Serebrier, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is sublime. This version of Adagio Un Poco Mosso is one of the best I've heard and maybe my favourite classical piece. -

The bass doesn't look like it needs EQ by the graph. It look more like it lies below neutral.- Sweden

Replacement headphones for my Fostex TH-X00 (and HD600)
The HD800 is far from bassy stock. It's only when you pair them with the CR-620 you get the thunderous bass. The high output impedance raises the bass a bit.- Sweden

Replacement headphones for my Fostex TH-X00 (and HD600)
Buy a used HD800 and get yourself a Yamaha CR-620, a receiver fro the late 70s. If neccesay use some EQ. The bass can truly be epic in this rig as is clarity, detail, soundstage and a natural tonality. TB Isone takes this pairing to another level.- Sweden

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
Knorr by Krumelur is a total trip on a headphone capable of producing a good soundstage and imaging like the HD800! -

Reply to review by 'sweden' on item 'Chord Electronics DAVE'
There is another review/impression comment I saw where the hole Chord line up was compared vs Yggdrasil. Not sure it was Amos on another site or someone else. He had he same feelings about the DAVE vs Yggdrasil as Amos does. The other Chord products inferior in any way.- Sweden

Isone Pro - the best thing you could ever get for your headphones on your computer
I've tried many headphones with Isone and but the Fostex TX00 is he first closed headphones to sound really good yet. Not HD800 level but still. Headphones that roll off too much up top seems to fair badly even though they might sound superb on their own.- Sweden
