The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
With the HD800s -- Sophia 274b Mesh + 6EW7 (though I've found the fat Sylvania 6FD7s to be quite enjoyable using low impedance jack. Too much floor noise when using with high jack). With LCD2s -- 274b + 6FD7. I have been waiting around to pull the trigger on 596s to really mesh with the...- Stoids

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
After having a few months to enjoy my current setup (Bifrost > WA6-SE > HD800/LCD2.2), I'm having an internal struggle deciding if I want to sell the LCDs and reallocate that money towards a superior source and a more synergistic amp choice (WA2 most likely) for the HD800s. They get the majority...- Stoids

HD800 roadmap to a top tier setup
You will not need to buy another set of headphones for gaming. When people talk about "gaming headphones", I associate that with a wide soundstage, good imaging, and comfort -- all attributes associated with HD800s. I use them for gaming all the time. The poor sound quality in games argument...- Stoids

Head-fi Austin - January 18 2014
Had a few questions since this will be my first meet. I had been going back and forth as to whether I wanted to bring my own gear for the first meet. My primary interest is to listen to as much as I can. However I don't want to take away anyone else's chance to listen to my setup, especially...- Stoids

Head-fi Austin - January 18 2014
Looking forward to first meet here. Up to this point my hobby has been limited to my own gear. I'd love to get a chance to listen to the HD800s paired with some of its common high-end amp pairings -- like the GS-X mk2, Liquid Glass, and DNA Stratus. Would also love to audition electrostatic rigs.- Stoids

Head-fi Austin - January 18 2014
Been meaning to get around to this, but just wanted to give a shout out to Nice Cans. I recently purchased my LCD-2s from Patrick and the whole experience was fantastic. I'm glad Austin has such a great resource for auditioning headphones. If you're in the market for new headphones, I highly...- Stoids

Glad to see high praise for the Black Dragon cable. I actually have one shipping to me from a member here. Thought it would be a good investment. Going to be my LAST UPGRADE (caps for emphasis to myself) for a while. I binged crazy hard in a week's time. Never again.... (my wallet hopes)- Stoids

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Received my Sophia Princess 274b Mesh Plate today. Put it straight into the WA6-SE with RCA 6EW7 and HD800s -- and while I noticed an improvement in soundstage, it was perhaps a tad bit too much in the upper range for my tastes. Swapped out the 6EW7s with RCA 6DE7s and instantly noticed an...- Stoids

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
My WA6-SE came in yesterday. It has definitely met my expectations in driving the HD800s I recently acquired. I have never owned a tube amp before, so I was quite curious as to whether I'd be able to discern these differences amongst tubes that I read about so frequently on these forums. I've...- Stoids

Just received my 800s this week from Amazon (SN #24***) and my outer box looks different than those pictures as well. Does the box have the Sennheiser authenticity security label on the bottom to verify?- Stoids

Indeed it is a great amp. It certainly serves the purpose of clearly presenting the music and acting as gain on a wire. I expect the Woo to smooth out things more than change the already incredible sound of the 800s.- Stoids

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Just received the first two of three new toys -- the HD800s and Bifrost. The WA6-SE comes in Friday. I knew I couldn't judge the HD800s fully until I got the Woo, but there's no way I wasn't going to plug it into my O2 amp and try. At first it was a bit of shock to my ears -- I wasn't sure...- Stoids

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Just pulled the trigger on my new rig. Been researching for about two-three months and today was the day I decided to settle down and start listening to music. Picked up a WA6-SE used. Got it arriving this week along with a new Bifrost and HD800s. Upgrading from O2/ODAC and HD600s. The wait is...- Stoids
