maybe they are being used with the crappy stock cables, an insufficient amp or not enough time was allowed for burn in for the aftermarket cable or the drivers.  these cans need about 1,000 hours of burn-in, imo.  i do not find my 650 with silver dragon cable or my 600 with equinox cable boring...

i don't know about the blue dragon or an hd-600, i can tell you that the silver dragon on the hd-650 is a killer upgrade in every rig i use it with. silver mates well with the hd-650 characteristics, imo. i find the hd-650 needs 500 hours of high intensity burn in to settle & the silver dragon...

i have one ss amp in the house & never liked it with any one my of my cans but the hd-800 synergy with it beats out all of my tube amps. what works for my hd-650 does not work for my hd-800. it depends on the amp. it could be ss or it could be tube. you never know.

the k1k stock cable sounds like crap, imo. i had mine recabled with mogami microphone cable & it too was crap, imo. i found some used stefan audioart equinox & had my k1k recabled again & never looked back. i have never heard apuresound so i can not comment. i would like to hear A/B comparisons...
