I was wondering what's the difference between a 3.5 male-to-male as opposed to an iPod line out dock. I'm thinking of using it on my iPhone and on my computer so if there's no significant performance increase with the LOD then I'm probably just going to settle for the 3.5 mm male-to-male.  ...

In the text it says to leave only 2, 3, 4, 11, 15, and 21, but in the diagram it says to bridge 1 and 2 and use as ground. Should we be leaving 1 intact?
